There is Tekcoin which gives you the ability to stake your coins every 30 days without leaving your wallet open 24//7. And, NEM's offline harvesting makes it a pretty good feature to get staking offline meaning that there is no need to leaving your NEM client open 24/7. So my list of favorite coins of these type would be the ones that the OP mentioned earlier + Tekcoin as well.

OP have you ever staked a block on NEM?
Can you provide details ... age of coins and amount ... say you let the wallet stake for 8 hrs sure to stake numbers.
--- I like POT, for the back burner POS, seems to sync fast enough and stakes quick on 2-3 week intervals.
In general I find the longer hold stakes cumbersome to sync, if you're weeks behind it might be 24hrs to sync up. (personal opinion) : i prefer chains that you can stake every 24-96hrs, not sure what the term is, but if you build up a random collection of coin lots, you tend to hit a minting block, but every chain is a different can of soup. so you could apply that concept to the long stake coins and every 24-96hrs too.

Get one of those 10 dollars a year servers if there is a particular coin you want to stake. Compile the Linux daemon, send your coins there. There are a couple of security steps to employ, which are very simple, but then you are good to go with 24 hours a day staking.
NB: Back up the wallet to your HDD (or wherever) in case cheapo server goes bust.

-One of the most advanced coins out there. Lots of unique features -First with decentralized markets (only one with decentralized market if you are a purist) -Active dev that keeps adding new features and improving old ones -Rock solid. It has been tested and retested the last 18 months -Exiting things on roadmap like the upcoming cold staking and the unique pegging -From a traders perspective: Totally undervalued. Could go up a lot when it starts moving

You can always use poswallet if it supports your coin. Coins I know that dont need to be open are crx, pokecoin, px, swaptoken, etc, hodl, cost and I think truck coin. You still need to open it just not all the time. I can't think of anymore.

I believe that technically you could simply run the coin console software or daemon, whichever the case may be in the background. If it is the resource issue, that might help. The GUI will likely take as much power to run as the software itself.

If just seeing the GUI bothers you, even Windows 10 has multiple desktop tech where you can run the wallet and switch to another desktop and never see it.

Yet, I wonder why it is very inexpensive. Still, it is a good entry point to get a huge amount of cheap coins and receive better stakes. Just my opinion.
