If Satoshi reveals himself, what would be of Bitcoin?

What do you think that will happen once the real Satoshi reveals himself (and proves that he created Bitcoin)? Will Bitcoin ever be the same? Will governments try to pursue Satoshi and put him in jail?

This will be something interesting to know, once it happens (if it ever does) sometime in the future. Please feel free to share your thoughts here. 

I think even the founder/creator of bitcoin reveal himself in our time now, I don't think it can give an effect to increase the value of bitcoin, because without him bitcoin became popular because of the high demand of the users all around the world. Though, Mr. Nkamoto Satoshi was really landmark the famous one creator of digital world of currency. This was just my opinion and point of view every one is free to give their side of view in this matter.

The bitcoin community does not need satoshi nakamoto but what they need is the creation of nakamoto which is bitcoin. For how many years bitcoin have flourished and the community placed its loyalty and support to the first cryptocurrency that existed in the world. Even without the creator in the open it became independent and started growing in value. If Nakamoto nowadays will show himself people will not mind and just think that he is another fraud pretending to be the real one.

Well I think if he reveal himself it will shut a lot if the old guys talking and politicking with just common segwit and BU arguments in the media. His presence now will calm things down while we search for solutions ahead.

Everybody is searching for truth, thats a human nature, always asking something they don't know, So if one day you know Satoshi identity what will you do? So let's make this scenario, Nakamoto reveals himself..... So what will happen? I think Bitcoin will still be Bitcoin when Nakamoto reveals himself. It will remain as a code. What won't be the same is how we perceive when we know the truth. How we react. I don't actually know the true reason why Satoshi hide himself, but if he did. Will people still believe, will people still have faith in its potential. This is just my speculations. Bitcoin is still running  and we are all enjoying the ride.
What is the destination?
Well we're all dying to find out.

I think that once Satoshi reveals himself, there will be more confidence in Bitcoin by attracting more investors into it. There will be a massive hype all around mainstream media, to users within the BTC community, making the price reach to higher levels than ever before. Also, Satoshi might put an end to the scaling debate, as he may bring a better solution towards increasing Bitcoin's capacity, in my own opinion.

The only problem would be, the massive pressure from governments and banks trying to shutdown Bitcoin by making Satoshi dump coins from the genesis address. If this happens, then Bitcoin will massively plummet in price.

In the bright side, Satoshi is still a mystery, making Bitcoin operate as normal regardless of any user, or entity. Its decentralization makes it an ideal system for everyday payments without the need of an intermediary. Thanks to Satoshi's creation, we have the freedom to choose what we do with our funds, and be our own bank. Just my opinion.

The price of Bitcoin would take a huge hit because the mystery of the creator would come to an end. The reason for this person or persons to hold onto their bitcoin holdings becomes much less important.I don't honestly believe Bitcoin would fail because of it, but I do think it would cause another MtGOX level crash for a period of time.

I can't figure out why satoshi is still a mystery. At least his friends or family member should know about this invention then why they don't reveal the secret what's the use of keeping it secret. They might think that if they reveal the truth they might be arrested by police because it's a public property which affects paper currency. But if he reveals the truth then he might face some problems that why he is not cunning up. It's my opinion.

That's what other think about too, but not in a sense of any illegal crime like what you are thinking. And why did you say that the creator of bitcoin would be like that. But for sure He won't reveal himself anymore, which I am sure about it.

well that's rigth if he will show up and make any statement either he will support bu or the core it will not change anything since he's been hiding ever since i guess if he reveal himself from the start maybe his word would help everything to be sorted out and resolved this concerned just my thought though.

Maybe he is even in the open already who knows but in my own opinion, if he eventually shows himself and we believe him, which is a determining factor of the effect such outcoming will have, I think its going to be negative in the sense that then people who want to remain anonymous will become sceptical that its might no longer be possible since the creator of the anonymity is back.

But no one has provided sufficient evidence to be considered a real Satoshi

Even if someone came out of darkness and proved to be a genuine Satoshi Nakamoto, the party which he wouldn't give his explicit consent to, be it Bitcoin Core or Unlimited, would still not listen to him (though I doubt he would favor BU, but that's just me, anyway) and confusion would only rise to new heights. That's might be one of the reasons why he may not want to appear before the public eye again, i.e. not to add to the disorder and turmoil which are already reining over here

I don’t think that is ever going to happen and even if it did many will be skeptical that he is the real satoshi, there will be all kinds of conspiracy theories saying that he is not satoshi but an impostor.

Yes, that is for sure if he is still alive he will reveal himself to the public, he might get into jail for sure. The govetnment will do it to him. Thats why it is good if he keep himself hidden.

Yeah that might happen. As BU is very flawed, Satoshi would probably go towards supporting Bitcoin Core. I believe that once he decides to reveal himself, and provide proof of ownership of his private keys, then he might work in different ways to put an end to the pioneer cryptocurrency's scalability debate.

Many jokers would show up, just to take advantage of Bitcoin by claiming that they're Satoshi themselves, but one those who prove ownership of the keys from the genesis block, will obtain full credibility by the Bitcoin community and the people who use the digital currency.

One thing for sure is, that once the original creator of Bitcoin and the blockchain becomes unmasked, there will be massive interest from users who never heard about Bitcoin, bringing traction to this revolutionary technology. Just my opinion.

Finance and money is very sensitive issue today and bitcoin is in ''grey' zone, without clear regulation.
If any government, specially US government, find out who is behind bitcoin, I'm sure that Satoshi will have serious legal problem.
Also, media pressure will be to high, for him and his family, I'm sure.
He have very good reasons to stay behind.
After all, at this stage, bitcoin doing just fine even without creator.

You do have a point there, mate. While there could be positive implications regarding the pioneer cryptocurrency's creator, the negative implications are most likely to occur. Maybe if Satoshi reveals himself, it would be the end of Bitcoin and the blockchain, as governments will try to pursue the creator and its tech to shut it down forever. Their efforts to stop the propagation of the blockchain would be greater, although it will be very difficult to completely remove a blockchain, due to its decentralized and distributed nature (especially with Bitcoin).

Overall, it would be interesting to see what happens if Satoshi reveals himself by then, but in the meantime, I think that there should be nothing to worry about since Bitcoin is doing fine without him. Just sharing my thoughts.

It will be great if satoshi really show up and speak his mind about this new debates, this debate seems like making bitcoin price becomes drop, I can see now there are a lot of confusion happened because of the fork issue, so if satoshi show up and gives solution it will be great
