IMPORTANT WARNING

As you can see above, the original Peepcoin dev has reappeared.

Upon receiving a request via PM for proof of his scamming and criminal history, I revisited my notes, and did some further investigation.

So far I have found at least two three four possibly five six other accounts on BCT which appear to be him, and have discovered he's even launched another coin at least two other coins, and appears to be associated with a third, and possibly a fourth!

One claims that "The very minute we launch and price goes up to 1.0 BTC you will be able to INSTANTLY & AUTOMATICALLY BE ABLE TO TRANSFER TO BITCOIN AT AN EVEN RATE!!! 1:1" ... sounds very similar to the 1 PCN = 1 USD claim, doesn't it?

Coin launches:

1. Launch thread for Peepcoin / PCN: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1566582.0

See also: https://www.facebook.com/1088019051262290/posts/scam-warningthis-guy-ben-johnsonben-grenier-has-scammed-me-for-us30000-i-paid-hi/373025949751989/

2. Launch thread for Broncoin / BCN: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2253858.0

3. Launch thread for Kenobi: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2407182.0

4. The domain gasfiles.com (for the coin GasFiles) is also associated with this guy; he may be the "gasfiles" account in this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2814987.0

It appears at least some of the GasFiles team was legit and was duped by a fairly simple rip->modify->upload scam: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2839512.msg31007204#msg31007204

5. Following that trail, the username "gasfiles" posted into another thread (started by username "myalphacoin") which based on the modus operandi and writing style could be yet another Grenier scam. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2680220.0

6. Launch thread for Peepcoin 2.0 (BEWARE) https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5124064.0

Other scams:

1. "Get your own cryptocurrency in less than 24 hours..."  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2278642.0

This thread is started by pcme, but he uses his other "bronc" account to vouch for himself. At least two people appear to have paid but not received anything.

2. "Willy Wonka's Golden Ticket Online 5 x $1000000 Golden Tickets" https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1556964.0

Another fantastic amount of money apparently up for grabs, without a plausible explanation of how it will be funded. People entering were required to send funds directly to his personal bank account. Thread seems to have died off with no further mention of any losses.

DO NOT TRUST THE BITCOINTALK ACCOUNTS "peepcoin", "pcme", "bronc", "mykenobi", "gasfiles", "myalphacoin", or "release"

DO NOT TRUST ANY PROJECT SUCH AS "PEEPCOIN 2.0 (PP2)" WHICH HE MAY BE ASSOCIATED WITH.

BEWARE OF ANY COINS MAKING SIMILARLY FANTASTIC "XXX VALUE AT LAUNCH" CLAIMS AS THEY MAY JUST BE THE SAME GUY DOING IT OVER.

This is probably just the tip of the iceberg. The more I look, the more I find. There may be other sockpuppet accounts, possibly even other coin launches.

And a quick note to Benji G, the original dev: according to that article you were given a suspended sentence for your fraud conviction. I presume that means that if you get into any trouble with the law at any time over the 5 year period, you'll be straight off to jail. You need to keep your nose clean. Why not try making an honest living, for once?

https://www.sunshinecoastdaily.com.au/news/cunning-coast-dad-makes-sacrifice-to-lucifer-to-ge/3354810/

"A COAST dad was called a liar and a conman when he tried to blame a mental illness on scamming four people out of thousands of dollars."
...
"Mr McLaughlin handed the man a jail term of six months, wholly suspended for five years."

Oh boy that was a load of HS (horse shit) lol

Anyway friend I am sending a pm. It seems you have a lot of time on your hands so reading it should be a synch!

You're right, it did take me some time, because I kept finding new pieces of the puzzle.

Here's a quick summary:

"gajonois" is a consistent connecting theme, whether it be a username, or part of an email address.

- gajonois is generally associated with Ben Grenier / Benjamin Grenier on several websites (including Paypal)
- gajonois is associated with Peepcoin (on BCT)
- gajonois is associated with Kenobi (on reddit)
- gajonois is associated with username pcme (on BCT)
- gasfiles.com was registered to Ben Grenier, admin@broncoin.com
- The BCT username gasfiles posted in the ANN thread for Alphacoin which appears to be yet another "guaranteed value" scam
- The Facebook profile which communicated with Peepcoin marks/victims started with the name Ben Johnson, then in September 2016 it was changed to Ben Grenier, and it currently shows the name Ben Green
- That same Facebook profile has posts which link to boostaff.info (registrant email: gajonois@hotmail.com) and goldriches.ga (which the BCT account pcme posted about).

There's more to it, but it's exhausting following your breadcrumbs.

By the way, I did receive your PM, but I'm going to follow my own advice (see red text above) and ignore any arrangement or partnership you propose. Given you've been convicted for fraud, I'm not sure why you'd think I'd ever trust you.

See https://pxn.foundation/community/scam-warning-pxn-foundation-announcement-23-3-2019/ for more information about the original scam developer pushing forward with Peepcoin 2.0

BE VERY CAREFUL ABOUT ANY ASSOCIATION WITH PEEPCOIN 2.0, IN PARTICULAR, BUYING COINS FROM THE peep2.com WEBSITE, OR DIRECTLY VIA ONE OF HIS BITCOINTALK OR SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNTS. HE HAS A HISTORY OF TAKING PAYMENT BUT NOT PROVIDING THE GOODS.

Remember also that if the swap does not provably destroy PCN in order to redeem PP2, the original developer will be able to sell the PCN for profit.

Update regarding Peepcoin 2.0 / PP2:

The Peepcoin 2.0 thread has now been locked, and the peep2.com website appears to have been taken down (404)

I don't believe that the username 'release' is an innocent victim as claimed in the last message in that thread; if you look at the posting history for that account, all recent posts have exactly the same writing style as the original dev.

It's possibly just another fake account made (or acquired) by Grenier.

"MANDATORY WALLET UPDATE"

"New wallet disconnects older versioned peers"

This seems to describe a hard fork to me.

"MANDATORY WALLET UPDATE"

This seems to describe a hard fork to me.

so even if both wallets work on the same chain it's a fork?? tonight I will try sending from old to new..

anyway .. from what i know the pxnfoundation guys want to make sure they control the chain. if I don't bother in the future they would like to lower the roi ... but I don't remember an official announcement to that effect

What do you think of this?

Mandatory was possibly wrong word - mandatory in a sense that PXN team will have majority of nodes which will make any future coming hardfork easier to roll out - I think it's necessary to address the 100% inflation at some point in time
