My mistake, wrote to fast. McCain needed a push, and so the powers to be, having the Georgia leadership as a puppet had Georgia attack whoever they attacked, while expecting help from the US. Oops, they didn't get it. It was going to be McCain's time to look like a leader on top of things. It's been many years, but that's what I can remember.

Just do not cross on each other boundaries.  Mind each others businesses.  I do not know why the US seems like always looking on Russia's business.  Maybe a threat?  US always wanted to be the most powerful country and should be the star of the world, the center of attraction.  If something happened to Russia then that is the time for the US to have a say on it.  Moscow - undecided if a friend or an enemy.

Depends on who you ask in Syria. If you ask those whose homes and hospitals bombed Russia, I think that they consider Moscow an enemy. Russia has many enemies around the world.
