Not investing $2k when BTC was $2. Wife told me to go for it and I bought hardware instead.... Sad

Ok, but you made 100ish bitcoins still?

made 54 coins all up but spent them as I mined them on fuel, groceries, 1.5kW solar panel system, etc..

still have two of the GPUs, a Jally and adding some next gen hardware this week from the profits.

Did OK by turning $2K into ~$7K but it could have been $2K into $1M (buy $2K when $2/BTC for 1K BTCs then sell 1K BTCs @ $1K during peak for $1M)

Oh well...got some goodies out of it I suppose and now self renewing wallet / hardware

There are a lot of stories like that here. I didn't even know about bit coin until the Gox thing happened. I saw a news report and decided to read up on it and got hopelessly hooked.

Still has to be your best investment lifetime in % wise over such a short period of time! Most people forget that, when they say things like "Only 500% return" Wink

Ok, but seriously,
1) bought silver with it. BTC skyrocketed, silver crashed. Only buying lead from now on, which will continue being manipulated by the government to probably be $100 for 230gr before I die of old age.
2) tried to sell on Bitfloor, which got "hacked".

Saying that you don't trust someone because of their behavior is completely valid.

Sent half of my bitcoins to a friend, to get him to try it out. He lost the private key.

There they lie: http://blockchain.info/address/1JzundL8uU2Mke4d85EQFbU49BcudQotuF forever inaccessible.

Also betting satoshidice 97%, I won, but payed more in fee than I got in winnings  Grin

Well it looks like either you or your friend were somehow able to find them in the end. That's good to see.

Biggest mistake is brushing it off when I notice it in 2010.

Thought bitcoin is ponzi.

Now that I finally understand free market and peer to peer technology, I know bitcoin is not a ponzi.

It is a game of musical chair.

I am rather curious to what she said as BTC crossed 1k...  Rather unusual(nothing bad just diff from the norm!) that the wifeskie is telling the hubby to invest.

Hopefully she is still saying invest. BTC is still way undervalued.

People who sold in Nov-December and bought back a few months after almost double their bitcoins holdings!

It is very risky to do so, apparently R successfully did so : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=12156.new#new

Yeah, pretty, pretty risky. But it really paid out. I've bought when it dropped to $500-ish. Didn't sell at ATH though, somewhere at $980.

My friends and I pooled our money together to buy 2 Radeon 7950's a year and a half ago, when we could have made multiple litecoins a day mining. Due to the rig dying when we first got it working and then our hype wearing off after that, we never got it working until recently. Now it'll take several years to recoup the losses, and with FPGA's on the horizon it's a moot point. At least I have a nice gaming rig now  Roll Eyes

If you can hit on some of those pump and dump scrypt coins you might get it back faster.

Not CPU mining in early 2009 for three months until difficulty started to increase.

Three months of CPU mining would be worth around $12,000,000 today.

Worst decision? Spending 10-100s of coins when value was at 10$ and not saving any.

The only online casino on which i won something. I made 17mBTC from 1mBTC in like 15 minutes.  This is not paid AD!
