To be clear, I'm all for having fun and tricking people on April Fool's Day, but if this is supposed to be a joke it's a bad one, for now we're talking about real money here. There are some people who'll believe that all is well and order based on false information.

If you don't believe it, just reread some of the comments on this thread alone.

Luke has stated in two threads on this forum alone that he received a Bitcoin miner from BFL, even offering up images as proof.

Now, what the fuck is going on?

Code:
(redacted for privacy concerns--I did not same a copy, for I felt it not important)

You can't claim on one hand that an item was shipped, and the on the other hand claim you left it at BFL.

Don't matter, they're shipping, and it works.

I also have Avalon Batch 3 coming. WIN-WIN!!!

So if I'm seeing things right, it's one unit doing 23.23 GH and consuming 179 watts.  That's about 7.7 watts per GH.

At that rate a 60 GH Single SC would require 462 watts, which would need to be split into 4 separate units to keep each under 120 watts.

That would be ~ 115.5 watts per 15 GH unit.

I've got 2 Single SC's on order, so that would be about 924 watts total load, or about 665 kWh per month.  At my rate of $0.25 per kWh, they would cost about $166 per month to run them.

924 watts for 2 SC's is a far cry from the 120 watts I was expecting.  But hopefully they'll improve things before they ship more out.

it can make you a lot money if they can ship it to you soon even if the power consumption issue is not solved.

Now, what the fuck is going on?
It's the exit strategy. Buy 3 avalon batch 1 at 60k and produce 3 SC units. Ship them, we are legit, shit happens, we will have to close tomorrow morning. The cat pissed on the wafer/etc. As i said, this is too funny.
I'm really really enjoying it.

---QUOTE DELETED---

I'd say that Luke owns SC Single, but let it at BFL's office for the time being. He receives the profits, BFL pays for electricity in exchange for further testing on Luke's machine.

For this bet to be won tho, there needs to be a shipping label and/or tracking number.

If there isn't any, it simply hasn't shipped yet.

Too long; didn't read, but has this been confirmed as a scam/cruel joke yet?

I can't be the only one who noticed that the laptop and powerbar in lukejr's pics are the same ones from the BFL test video released a couple days ago.

It's real, but... https://forums.butterflylabs.com/blogs/polrpaul/119-first-bfl-asic-delivered.html

Quote
It is very early Monday morning April 1, 2013 for me here on the east coast and I'm just learning of great news: the first BFL ASIC miner is hashing on the public network! Congratulations BFL - we all look forward to many rounds of cheers in celebration this coming week. Luke-Jr is the proud owner of the first BFL Little SC and it looks like it is achieving over 20GH/s already.

Just to be clear, it appears no delivery service was used as the Little is being remotely hosted in KC for Luke who does not yet have it in hand. That is an important distinction for anyone thinking BFL is shipping. Also for anyone who has money riding on any bets that BFL would ship before April 1, which I'm proud to say I do not.

However, this is still a monumental event of course. We has ASIC hashes! Congratulations Josh and team - like for serious, we love you.

The point is that as of now there is no proof of any kind that they have something working.

I said this with avalon and i have to repeat it with BFL. I was also more confident with avalon...

You wish. That could be a single Avalon module hashing. 3 months ago, that would have been a valid proof.

I just received my new truck yesterday, but I'm leaving it at the dealership so they can run further tests on it while I pay for the gas it uses.

That's the OP in a nutshell.

Luke-Jr got the first ones, how convenient, why didn't Josh got the first?

Hmm missing something?  They could be Luke's units, ran remotely by Josh.  Of course the EXIF data would show Josh since Josh took the photos.

Congratulations! Now Josh finally delivered before 1st April and do not need a seppuku Grin  Although it is still hosted at BFL, but since now their energy consumption is high, some people would consider having their singles hosted at BFL anyway (they provide this service), so this is actually a delivery IMO
