Bitmarket.io, a few questions for you on this beautiful coin:
  • Are you the original owner? If not, who had the coin before you?
  • Is this coin featured in Elias' Encyclopedia of Physical Bitcoins?

Thanks!!

Still no takers on the VERY RARE coin. Something must be wrong here. Maybe its your asking price jackass.
You must have not been around long enough to know that bitmarket will sit on his prices and coins for years at a time, I think his last 10BTC coin took like a year to sell, but it did sell.

That's cool with me. The longer he waits the lower the premium will get btc wise because if we know anything its that btc will continue to go up.
Why do you think he's been sitting on this coin for 2 years trying to sell and with no one buying it? His asking price is not even close to being reasonable.

Why are you so interested about my life?

He's not, he just wants to get his signature into as many places as possible so he can keep getting paid.

Yeah I need the 0.005 that bad even though im making 10+ btc offers on this guys coins. OKkkkkk.

It's quite easy to offer a lot of money knowing it'll never be accepted, Just because I go to someone selling a house for $250k and offer them $100k cash right now doesn't mean I won't be working at Mc Donalds because I'm actually broke. Nevertheless if you aren't in any need of a paid signature, why bother having one? It's still got quotas to make and thus here you are posting to meet them.

My offer was not a joke. If Bitmarket.io agrees to my offer I'll sign a message containing the btc right away and get the escrow involved. As for the sig, I actually support FJ because I like their site and customer service. If you check you'll see im not even on any list to get paid for wearing it. I just do it to support a service I like and use regularly.

Why are you so angry? I can almost see the vein popping in your forehead when you were typing out this message. All I have done is make fair offers for dusty old coins that you've not been able to sell in over 2 years. And you get all up and angry vein poppin and shit. Smiley

I like the look of those, the ironic side effect of asking for bitcoin payment is you want someone bearish on BTC but who is bullish on the gold or silver content of the coin.  Because they are losing more of the bitcoin in order to buy the physical attributes of the metal and this particular coin, so thats probably what makes it a difficult sale.
Ive never been sure about the whole case for gold cross over investors to bitcoin because they are different asset classes, I hold gold in a blockchain type account but I accept its not really crypto related and is centrally reliant on the custodian.  Its bling for sure, you want someone rich or with much larger holdings they dont hold personally to pick this up as a kind of folly for their desk I think really

Bitmarket.io, a few questions for you on this beautiful coin:
  • Are you the original owner? If not, who had the coin before you?
  • Is this coin featured in Elias' Encyclopedia of Physical Bitcoins?

Thanks!!

this isn't in the book - I believe cassascius denied all knowledge of the error..

OP - do you have the PGP chain for this ?

For what ever it is worth, I remember that Charlie contacted Mike about the gilt spill, here is the thread:

For what it is worth... I remember when he first got the coin (2013/2014) and he hit me up on IRC. He was asking me if that would be an error of sorts and I said probably so. Obviously this does not prove it is real, but personally I believe him about it. Who would fake an error a year or 2 before trying to sell it?

I'd pay BTC4.5 to get a clinic on how to produce forum post art as fine and abstract and inspirational as this gem. I like your work!

Heretofore, this offer in no way represents an actual offer of bitcoin for services rendered or goods provided. This was merely a statement made in jest with the intent of easing the tension that has persisted in this thread. We all know Bitmarket.io will get his price for this beautiful coin. It's just a matter of time and market winds. When they decide to blow in favor Bitmarket.io will be waiting, with a prominent escrow, a shit eating grin, and some brilliantly crafted forum post art giving the rest of us the bird. Ibid. And until this day comes, may all of us travel henceforth with godspeed.
