http://pool.bytecoin.in/

This pool lists no rewards as shares are completed.
Your reward will show when a block is found, i'm working in better info/stats for the miners btw.
Yay Smiley I only mined 0.5 BTE so far Sad

the pool starts out slow and gradually increases. also it continues to pay out for quite a while after you stop mining.

If one can not confer upon another a right which he does not himself first possess, by what means does the state derive the right to engage in behaviors from which the public is prohibited?

That's a really nice thing about p2pool, you get paid even after you stop mining!
It just takes a bit to ramp up to your full payout at first.

Huh, I didn't know that was a P2Pool server too, I guess there isn't much diversity in the world of bytecoin pools then Tongue

Oh, it may not be a P2Pool server, it sure sounds like one from the description of the payouts, though.

My pool (http://limitedloot.org:6327 *is* a P2Pool, btw.  Tongue

Oh, so you mean it's a PPLNS pool (Pay-Per-Last-N-Shares), pays out based on an average of a set number of shares. (Meaning that you have to mine for a while to increase your payout, and can be paid for shares multiple times).

On that note, the pool which supports the faucet is also a P2Pool instance, with a custom live-updating frontend Smiley

How much would Byte coin be worth say 1 or 2 years from now?

It's not that easy to predict how much bytecoins will actually be worth, as they are pretty new to the market, although, they seem to be getting a lot of attention. I'm sure that a lot of people are hoping they gain value, as it gives a new opportunity for investors or latecomers to bitcoin to, well, have a 'new' bitcoin.

(Realistically I think they will be worth pretty much nothing, but it would be great if they went up in value)

as a person who is heavily invested, im going to say realistically, probably nothing. But people dont buy lottery tickets because they expect to win, they buy it for the chance and because the reward will be so great if they do. BTE is like this, except unlike a lottery ticket in that it has (in my estimation) a positive expected roi. So for example if you could buy a lottery ticket that gave you a 1% chance to win but would increase your initial investment 1000 times, in the sense that it is technically a good investment it has a positive roi, even though statistically speaking you probably wont win.

Do any of the bytecoin pools support merged mining yet with user payouts in both?  Keep in mind that a malicious bytecoin pool operator could secretly merge-mine bitcoin...  Redacted, false assumption.

what are  bytecoins?!? what's the incentive for anyone to move (keeping in mind that the name sounds like a complete rip off to begin with).
is the only incentive for LATECOMERS to get cheap entry into something comparable.  if so.. seriously?

ok

i made a thread specifically to address what i perceive to be the utility of bytecoins. check it out and tell me what you think of my argument https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=167023.0

I found this when googling Bytecoin.

http://bytecoin.net/

this could be potentially confusing to new users isn't it? :p

Yeah, I saw that a while back, it was made in 2011 Shocked

Could be pretty confusing, but there's not really much we can do about it

Thanks Smiley

We still need a bit more support, we were quite an early pool but we seem to have lost quite a lot of miners Sad (Probably to the bytecoin.in pool or Gerco's pool (As he set the pool to donate to the faucet for one day, presumably to get more miners))

I'm currently planing on building a 6950 mining rig and before I mine litecoins with it I will definitely help you out for 24 hours as part my stress testing for the overclocks
