Is this thing dead?

My transactions still get confirmations. Even if it's dead there is someone familiar with voodoo magic  Grin

I'm offline for a few days, but I'll keep running for a while.

I try to be respectful and informed.
Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

It doesn't seem that dead at The Bytecoin Emerald or The Bytecoin Faucet. There are still quite active users it seems Smiley

If Bytecoin were to "die," I would personally start CPU-mining it and hoarding it like crazy. Smiley

Just wondering.. is bytecoin.in cheating our shares? Bytecoin network hashrate is 70GH, the pool has almost 20% of that, 13 GH, and they have not 'found' a block for over 6 hours! Thay must be *very* unlucky or the whole bytecoin (or the pool) is cheating or the stats are showing wrong..

What is the correct answer?

http://pool.bytecoin.in/stats_netw.php

Edit: I answer myself; browsing the block chain, the whole network have found only 4 blocks today. Means network hashrate has droppen dramatically below current difficulty.

So low hanging fruits has been taken and people are leaving the coin? I guess you need a lot of hashrate to save it..

Interesting. During the first two weeks after intro, 12k+ blocks were added to the chain. Since then only about 3k more. A significant slowdown.

My experience with bytecoin.in has been all bad. Hashing for VERY long periods with no payout etc. May be had luck, but I'm out of the Bytecoin game for now.

It's due to difficulty adjustement.

Why not mine at http://bytecoinpool.us.to:6327/static/?

It provides instant payouts from the generation transaction and uses the PPLNS system to judge how much you are paid (so your payout fades in and out, you are still paid after you stop mining).

We've found 5 blocks already today Cheesy

Does that mean those who started out with CPU mining are now out of it and only GPU miners can cope with the difficulity?

Seems so. But even a decent GPU won't help u much, u need a bunch of them.

Does anyone have a difficulty prediction for the next adjustment?

My guess would be that the majority GPU mined from the start.

I'm guessing around 3,749 at the current network hashrate.

Are we close to an API-enabled exchange where one could automatically pull pricing?  If not, I will need to remove Bytecoin from Coinchoose until one exists.

Stick a fork in this one Jim.

Multipool - Always mine the most profitable coin - Scrypt, X11 or SHA-256!
