Does that mean those who started out with CPU mining are now out of it and only GPU miners can cope with the difficulity?
Seems so. But even a decent GPU won't help u much, u need a bunch of them. Does anyone have a difficulty prediction for the next adjustment? I'm guessing around 3,749 at the current network hashrate. I notice the difficulty is still way up. If it does drop, what's to prevent someone from pointing an ASIC or server farm at BTE like last time and kicking the difficulty up again. Been around for a while and know some get a kick out of doing that kind of thing "just for fun".

I guess not much is stopping them The hashrate has been quite unstable for a while, but recently it seems to be rising, which hopefully means that there will soon be enough full-time miners to prevent this type of thing having much effect on the network.

Except that the testnet works really good already built into bitcoin, or testnet in a box. So, no, not really.

Looks like things are loosening up. Difficulity almost halved earlier today and quite a few more blocks being generated.

People paying like 0.001+ BTC for 1 BTE are really throwing their money out the window
0.001 BTC = $0.1. In a couple of years 1 BTE can worth $100 (just like BTC now). $100 / $0.1 = 1000 = 100000% of profit. Looks like u said this to buy all BTE for urself!

While I can understand the time argument, I am having a hard time understanding how that impacts profitability. My expected coins that I mine is a function of difficulty (on average), not on coins per time, because coins per time period usually means more miners have been pointed at the coin.
Can you elaborate?

I have around 300 BTE to sell, LTC, BTC, NMC, or CNC accepted, any sensible offers ?
