Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

Back with an update guys, ive got a pool up and running, all i can confirm is shares are reported. Now then the bad news, the frontend im using is buggy mainly due to the bytecoin client using an old bitcoin base. Now would anyone here be willing to work as a team to repair bytecoin's daemon, and get the whole network going again. If anyones interested post here or pm me, ill make a list and we'll see where we go from there.

My first idea was anyone who joins as part of the team will get an equal share of any PROFITS from the pool weekly aslong as they do their job well.

Skills i think we'd need:
Coder- preferably someone whos created a coin before( i could help here)
Marketer- Someone who'd be able to put the coins name out there
Maintainer, someone who will help to maintain the pool and answer support questions

anyone up for it?

I am more than happy to give this coin a Marketing and promotion front. I just recently opened freefromfiat.net and would love a "mascot" coin, and BTE was the forst new coin to hit the market in before these shitcoins. Im totally down. Anyone got that pool up? Ill poiint 300 MHS at it if so

sure heres the ip http://92.23.9.241/  port 8342 pushpool only although its only testing, i dont even know if it works, i dont have an asic so havent tested the payouts block finding or anything, you'll also see that the pages are full of errors mostly due to the bytecoin daemon missing calls

If I cold get the wallet to sync. I've got a couple VPS's I could set up servers on if I can get it to sync. Anybody got any addnodes I can connect my daemons to? I have 1 vps so far with it compiled on. Try addnode=84.200.17.243   Lets give this coin the love it deserves!

Actually didn't expected to find a block, wanted to make sure the pool was good too....

Still can't sync wallet, added the node mentioned earlier. It shows a connection but still not downloading the blockchain. Hopefully ProfMac will point his ASIC at the pool, would be nice to have one of my own.

It's a start.... At least to get things moving a bit. Digigami is actually the node that the wallet connected to.

I have a bytecoind node running more or less continuously.  It is at address bte.vima.austin.tx.us or [2001:470:c019:0000::2013:0401]:6333  Note that the last 4 address digits are the date of the genesis block.  There are IPv6 nodes connected to it on an ongoing basis.

If you cannot connect to IPv6 and cannot find an IPv4 node, I can run the node for a while without
onlynet=IPv6
in the configuration file and pick some IPv4 addresses from the debug log.

My ASIC is still available.  It is earning good money on the the eligius pool.

In order to point my miner to this pool, I enter

pool:  stratum+tcp://mining.eligius.st:3334
worker:  18bLcVkviErQi75zB8X39jZXxHNpSZggdC
password (not used): secret

into the cgminer configuration panel.  There is some instruction at http://eligius.st on how a new miner connects to the pool.

There are consistent reports of trouble with P2Pool and Avalon miners.  In addition, I don't see any instructions on how to connect to the pool when I go to the web page that ahmed_bodi lists in his posts.  I am available to connect when I get working instructions.

I try to be respectful and informed.
