Explained in this way I see it well but it would not be necessary to modify the roadmap on the web?

Roadmap can be generate confusions

Anybody link me to something (or just tell me) about the main use cases for ARK? I find it quite confusing from the website, what it will actually be used for

https://blog.ark.io/smartbridge-technology-by-ark-ab3e97a081db

And a lot more - journey has just started!

Either this is really genius stuff, or something someone wrote while extremely high.

Quote
Another use case could be a 3rd party coin exchange service may look for specific triggers and handle cross blockchain payments for their customers. For example, You have ARK but want to pay for a movie using Netflix Credits but you don’t have any Netflix Credits.

Netflix Credits??

Quote
To discuss all of the potential use cases which can be utilized by SmartBridge would take volumes.

Doesn't really sound like it would honestly, sounds like it's not fleshed out at all yet.

Blockchain as a Service (BaaS) is relatively new, but not exclusive to ark. Neither is SmartBridge (yet), as currently as it stands it's only a comment field during a transaction. Doesn't LISK have the exact same thing in the works too btw?

I also, to be frank, would like to bring up an issue. This is not FUD, and I hope ARK goes far. However, I have heard from members in Slack communities that the ARK dev team isn't "respected" among the community, and thus they dismiss it as a "scam". Can you elaborate on this please? Why do high ranking Slack users and insiders dislike ARK? Did this team work on something else prior to this?

Thanks.

I think we need to be realistic and first address the key issues in the core of the system. Which is the blockchain, DPoS and delegates. And we should not fool ourselves that it's perfect just the way it is. Let's first make sure the foundation is solid. Celebrating right now is a bit premature.

This will be some constructive criticism.

We can all agree that the delegate node system is in its infancy and we do not know most of the players involved. Casting a vote right now is basically a gamble. The whole point of DPoS (as I understand it) is to support nodes we know do their job well and respect their commitments to their backers. Very similar to the early days of the first BTC mining pools. Few of them have pages with stats. The rules are very vague and therefore opened to interpretation. Not saying this is necessarily a bad thing. But it will take time to shake out the bad players and make backers comfortable with their decision.

Pools using undisclosed rules they use to calculate payouts goes against the concept of open source. Some claim this is to prevent people from abusing the system and change votes so they can game the system and maximize their payouts. The right way to do things open source style is to come up with a solution that works well and is impossible to cheat even if all rules are completely transparent.

Proposal for a fair & completely transparent way of calculating DPoS rewards for voters:

I personally do not have the time to implement this and set up my own node, but whoever does will most certainly get my votes. Everytime a delegate forges a block, they check the state of votes and balances of their voters (probably one block earlier). They distribute the 2 ARK amoung the voters. Payouts of course happen, when the voters collect enough Ark to be worth sending. So there's no need for creating snapshots at random times. Just run the script that goes through the transactions every now and then and it will automagicaly update the backers balances.

dude totally, I totally agree with  you.

But as the dev team, we can't and shouldn't discriminate on who can run a pool or a delegate.

I hope that one day that members of the community will come together to do community digging to find sock puppets and such and to verify integrity of the delegates.

Of course. Anyone should be free to do as they please.

The shake-out and evolution of pools/delegates will happen naturally through competition.

The devs should certainly not interfere directly. But you could help speed things along by offering possible solutions to anyone willing to use them. Something like a reference pool site.

Totscha this is exactly what I proposed to some pool runners - summing up their voting weight after each round and distributing proportionally to their vote weight so even if you get in the middle of the day or are in it for whole day you'll get the amount you were voting at each round and distributing when enough for a payout (eg. once per day, minimum payout like 2 ARK or whatever rules set) and I think one is already working on a script like this.

... and if you read the whitepaper this was planned first if 10k BTC was raised) - of course we'll focus on that as well, but might take a bit more time as we focus on task at hand and what can be beneficial to ARK ecosystem first.

there is any web page counter with the 10000 bitcoin threshold to monitor??
it could be usefull.
This will be really a BIG STEP for ark ecosystem in "REAL" life...

Thanks.

Whats your reply to this, devs?

It's probably cannabanana FUD with Lisk, which is true in my view and I would do the same.

no they don't have the same thing.  We implemented it first and lisk has recently announced that they will be adding our vendorfield to their blockchain.  We even implemented self healing first before lisk implemented it.  We're path forgers, not followers.

Tell me a coin project in history that hasn't just been blown off as a scam.  Bitcoin, ETH, every coin in history has been labeled a scam...until it's not.

Bitcoin continues to have weekly death notices of being the biggest scam in history.

https://99bitcoins.com/bitcoinobituaries/

I'll just tell you this, there's a lot of shitty people playing shitty games and whispering bullshit into peoples ears because it makes them more money.

Buy more lisk cause ARK is a scam....I bet you 1000% that whoever told you that, is highly invested in lisk.

Ark isn't a scam, I don't think anyway. Hopefully not since I'm heavily invested, but I have also seen a few mention that cannabanana can be immature. I guess that could put off investors, since the devs are the soul of the coin and the community being the heart of course Smiley. It also is abit worrying since he's the head of communications. No offence cannabanana but all devs actions and responses are taken on board and looked upon on how serious this project actually is.

Regardless, I'm wishing ARK a great future! Really do think it has great potential if you're able to complete what you state in your roadmap.

Best regards.

Thanks for the comment.  I am a bitch to those people who are turds.  They hate me to death cause I screw with their manipulative games.  They don't want to fight me cause they know I fight back.

I love all you guys and people who can get to know me more than "whens lunch" "where's bounty" "ark is scam" will get a better response from me.

just sayin

 Cool

oh and btw,  I have as many people who like me as those who don't.  I'm not all full of hate, just really mean to those who will try to take advantage of their anonymity.

I can see where you're coming from. But since you're head of communications on a project which has had alot of money invested from normal hard workers, I think it would be best to rise above the haters and ignore them. Silence goes along way, of course you can prove them wrong in a professional response if you're getting accused of something, but I wouldn't advise to stoop down to their level and "fight" with them. After all, it's the internet. That wont get you no where.

Thanks.

Yes I know Smiley get told it all the time.  But would ARK be ARK if cannabanana was just another lame community manager that kisses everyones asses?

Crypto used to be different, full of real people with real opinions on things.  It used to be alive with personality.

Now it's basically just people with money who think they deserve to be waited on hand and foot.

I'm not hating, I'm just being me and I'll never change for anyone or anything especially money.  Love me or hate me, what you see is what you get.

I respect that, but after investing nearly $30,000 on ARK, I'm just stating what other people like myself are thinking. I don't want to be opening up a thread and see devs having arguments with users, it's just petty and tarnishes the projects reputation with an example I quoted earlier.

I'm not asking for you to kiss ass either, just giving you constructive criticism on how you can improve as the head of communications.
