I recently was browsing through some bitcoin services and I noticed some scammy practices. Some of fraudulent sites I checked had nice "About Us" section. They posted names and pictures of the their staff and short description. I smelled something fishy is going on there and after brief search I found the pictures of 'their staff' used on other sites as well. Details, such as position and name were changed of course.
Well done, if people took the time to research and analyze the websites where they are going to invest then we will see less scams but they get blinded by greed

Well done, if people took the time to research and analyze the websites where they are going to invest then we will see less scams but they get blinded by greed That is not just by taking time but it is a responsibility of an investor to check every websites history and everything about it. Because that is an easy thing to find out when a site tries to scam you. When you can see that they have a ponzi scheme and obviously asking you to invest just to get some percentage profit in return without giving you some products then that's scam.

Also you can check the site on https://who.is/ to check the name of the owner, if it was disabled, just don't invest... If you can check the name of the owner, you can find more info about the guy however it don't will tell to you if he's trying to scam your or not.

People mostly become lazy when it comes on research because they feel it is wasting the time while they don't think of the loss they might pick up if they invest without any research, they just give a small briefing to the site and start satisfying themselves that it deserves the investment and they do it, it is another thing that they regret their decisions later on.

I don't think the fact a name does not appear in such a website changes a lot since you can pay a small fee when you register your domain to keep your information private instead you should look for the business name in the country in which is supposed to be incorporated and do a search there.

I am writing about the sites where you have to make a deposit before buy and the site offers to act as a MM in deals.
How could I know when they are trying to scam me? In general, how do I know if a MM site is trusted?
The main indication of the site before scam is to increase its bonus , profit payout and speed earning of user , such types of attractive offers are gives by the site to make huge Profit and then ran away with own profit . So we can determine easily wether a particular site is looking to ran away with scamming the user .

If we like to invest our money on a particular site we should really do make some investigation first before making next action. If you do value your money you would surely do that because you dont like to lose your money but there are really some circumtances that we do fall on some scams because of some informations that may convince us but they are just total lies on the first place.

The best thing to know if site tries to hack you is that, they would offer higher commision in investing and referral. Usually, some scam sites are those whom will offer you a profit that did not require you to work or do dome efforts. Also, in deciding which site is legit, check their legal information and the forrum about them. Lastly, Never put a big money on the site that you used at first time. Hope it helps.

Those circumstances occur because of lake of knowledge, if we have knowledge about them we would never fall for their fake promises, but just because at first we think that earning bitcoins is easy that is why we think that investing with them wont cost us anything.

If you see websites promising things like 100%, 150% per year, there are strong indications that it is scam. Even the most efficient companies in the world can not provide even half of that for investors, unless they are some kind of ponzi scheme.

How can you know that the scammer is on your way? First thing you should do is, once he or she gave you website where he or she is working, make some research, their vouches their system, scan it deeply if the site have a virus then check it with the malware. Do not be greedy when you see high commission in front of your screen because if there is high commission there is high possibility of scamming. Check the security of the site. Do not ever believe that the site is in the long run and successful, as like thy are posting in their pages, remember it can be edited by the page developer or administrator. Lastly… repeat everything and think so many time think logically

You look like a genius, many time should think with logically, because many sites are here but we can judge about them, is it scam or not. But in my view, if any sites give you high profit and we have no any information about them, than definitely, it is scamming, and also see the profile.

Lack of information, unrealistic gains too good to be truth are pretty much best indicators someone want to scam you. Something "important" to download from site is another sign. Do some researches before deposit anything anywhere.

What i do about sites that are likely scam maybe when it is requesting for money or confidential details is Find how long the site has been existing, most especially site not up to 2 years can be make one vulnerable. Type such site name into search engine + scam. if the site has any history of scam the search engine could reveal it. Website with links from USA and Britain with stricter law of online scam are likely to be safer but some site from African countries, Asian and some eastern europe with relaxed law on online transaction can be dangerous

That whois service is not even reliable but I guess many trusted sites are even hiding their real identity. So I doubt that this way can be a good factor for knowing if a site is a scam or not. Because there are scam sites also that are not hiding their identity so if we will relay with that factor that can be a hard way to find it out.

Never heard of anyone getting scammed or his bitcoins getting stolen for downloading some staff from a site but yeah, it might happen that they give you a keylogger and then they hack into your wallet and steal your bitcoins but it does not happen often, but as you said lack of information is mostly the reason why people get scammed.

It happens all the time. Just because you don't hear about it doesn't mean it doesn't happen a lot, every single day. People on this forum always want you to add them to Skype so they can send something to you and they'll have access to your computer (and your private keys).
