The best I can say without going into detail is, at the time of creation, God "tossed" all kinds of things into existence in single days. For example, He created all the plants on the 3rd day, the space objects on the 4th day, and all the animals, birds, and fish on the 5th day.

These things started out in life and action as though they had been there long enough to grow and mature into what God made them to be in an instant. So, the background for their living would need to look as though it had been there, just to match the whole pattern of things.

The point? believe what God says, or believe that we know better. And this has always been the point for us. It was the point that cause Eve, and then Adam, to sin. We know better than God (we think) and now we have to die because of it.

We cannot please an atheist to believe in God's existence even if they were already presented with scientific facts that proves that God does exist. It certainly takes time. And it also requires a personal encounter with God's divine presence in their lives for them to believe. Once they had that encounter same with those written in the Bible, ask them again if they believe or not.

I recommend, get a faithful translation of the Bible on CDs, in your modern language. Listen to it every day for at least one half hour each day. Listen to the New Testament 3 or 4 times for every hearing of the whole Old Testament. Read along in a written copy, if you like. You will be amazed at how many things God will open up to you.

Mhm.. interesting point of view here. Example: my mother died from cancer at 69 after months of pains... was that planned by your god? Is that a form of personal encounter with him? Why are there so many healthy criminals, rapists, murderers etc. and my mom died? Is that the plan of your god? Tell me an example of a "personal encounter with God's divine presence in my life"...

Jesus said, Luke 12 49, "I have come to bring fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled!" Jesus was talking about His coming death on the cross. But He was talking also about the coming Lake of Fire found in the revelation. More than likely the Lake of Fire includes the whole suffering and death of Jesus, where He suffered the eternal punishment for all the sins of the whole world, in one afternoon.

Jesus escaped the fire during His resurrection. He offers escape to all of us who are willing to accept it, as well. Please, come and join us in eternal salvation, where you can bask in the joys of Heaven forever, rather than burn in the fires of Hell.
