anyone with 280x elypedia ? cant find it ;x
With Claymore V7, it makes very little difference. Just mine with stock BIOS and set core clock as high as possible. what ya suggest as core then ? 280x? Try 1100Mhz I can't believe my 7950's are kicking my rx 480 8gb's!? 7950 166 sol/s rx 480 8gb 161 sol/s Any idea what settings I should use for rx 480 gtr The 7970 has 384 bit memory bandwidth. So the speed is high. But the RX 480 is more energy efficient.

Hi there,
I got myself a cheap MSI 290x twin frozr (gaming 4G). I get a good 210 S/s from stock bios. Can anyone tell if modded timings would improve that?
I was not able to find a suitable bios for now (I didn't want to play with bios that's not from the same model, but if someone has tried it before why not)..

Try OC your card to 1100/1450 Thanks, but Not sure about that, The few OC I tried gave me more watts and less S/s : 1100 core worked with no improvement. For memory I did not get as high as 1450 for now. 1300 memclock crashed but it was undervolted. At stock I can get power draw pretty reasonable with -100mV, that's why I would ratther play with memory timings than overclocking. But I give it a go.

And I don't want to overvolt. It's hot enough in there ;-)

See the main Claymore thread, there are a few individuals there with your GPU and see what they get. With V7 BIOS mods do little.

I think I will let it be like that, it's running cool enough to fit in a case and that's the major point. Because I plan to put it in an office with free electricity :-) Thanks for trying to help.

My sapphire hd7970 GHz with modded bios gives ~184sol/s (1150/1575). Sometimes peaks at 190sol/s Seems to be nice result

Yes its a great result but some 7970 can't run stable at 1575mhz with modded bios. Most of my Gigabyte 7970 crash at those speeds. 280x seems fine however.

can't run stable at 1575mhz with modded bios
Mine goes up to 1650 stable. Think will be nice to update the 1st post with adding this bios also. Seems quite good. Running for already 4 days stable, without crashes even overclocked to 1150/1575mhz

At least thats how it was with my 7950s. When Claymore V8 gets released I will see if they make a difference

170h/s on a reference 290? I'm seeing 200 at 1030/1250 -100mv with the stock bios, if I go to 1100/1475 it just eats power for an extra 10h/s.

So for the MSI 280x modded bios is their any gains on it from stock clocks or not worth it as my stock clocks producing 160 to 170H/s per card

Reference 290 can hash at 230 h/s @ 1100/1450 with Stilt BIOS mods. More with Hynix mem Even more with 290X.
