Ok, here is a stupid question and i'm almost embarrassed to ask, but how do you copy the straps into Hex Workshop, i found the correct line etc, i copy the strap to the clipboard but it won't allow me to paste it in the hex workshop. i don't want to have to retype that long line.

Just flash these straps at your own risk, if you have no idea what you are doing, then leave this thread now. I assume NO RESPONSIBILITY if you brick your GPU, messed up your memory chips, etc. YOU HAVE TO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE CORRECT MEMORY. ELPIDA WONT WORK WITH HYNIX STRAPS.

This ^^^

Wow really, thanks for the help!!!!!!

Sorry but I thought it was blatantly obvious, if you don't know what you are doing then it is suggested that you stop before blaming others for a mistake you make when touching something you don't fully understand that's all Wink

if paste doesn't work then go to edit / special paste / CF_TEXT and check "interpret as hexadecimal string" / paste

Alright can somebody with a MSI R9 280X mod the BIOS and post it. I don't have any of those GPUs and can't test. That and I think the Sapphire 7970/280x are also most requested.

I used your modded gigabyte 280x hynix on my sapphire 280x and its hashing happily at 140+sols on optiminer for 3 days now. Just undervolt to not overburn the incompatibility.

Which Sapphire 280x is it? There are many variations like the dual-x, Toxic, etc

I have 4x GIGABYTE GV-R928XOC-3GD REV2 Radeon R9 280X 3GB that I have been using mining zcash.  Is it just a matter of flashing this rom in the via atiflash that is in the original post?  That's it?

Depends, check which memory type you got with each of those GPUs.

Use GPU-Z. If you got Hynix for all of them, flash with the Gigabyte 7970 Hynix ROM posted above.

Do one GPU at a time in case something fails.

here is my MSI gaming 280x Rom, could you mod this for me?

I flashed it on Toxic. I think in general it will work just have the correct cheksum.

Here's an original ROM from a Sapphire HD 7970 3G OC w boost, Hynix AFR:

https://filetea.me/t1sPYG8i8RVRfue3wnGq2XLXg

I modded this ROM as described with all of the code from the OP's first post.  It was very unstable with 1500 mem.  Would only run for about 1-2 minutes.  But if memory clock was at 1375-1450 it gave varied results from 96 sol/s to 107 sol/s with core clock at 950.

The intensity value had to be 0.

I also tried using VBE to undervolt to 1100 from 1175 with no noticeable difference or improvement in stability.

I gave up and returned to TheStilt mod ROM where it gets about 92-97 sol/s.

If someone has any insight on how to make this more stable, please advise.

I am having the same issues, some cards run at 1575-1600Mhz mem, while other fail at even 1500Mhz. No idea why.

Its hit or miss, I guess. The ones that fail at 1500Mhz, those I just run at 1400Mhz.

Adaseb, great work. I'm reaching 125 H/s on a single Asus 280x using your strap bios (able to reach it with an OC'd 5820k at 4.5ghz), Claymore v5.0, -i 2.

I think you are the winner and got the highest speed on the 280x using Claymore V5. Mostly due to your fast processor.

Maybe I`m stupid but I want to ask about the strap on page 1. I downloaded some Rom for asus and Gigabyte, but when I opened it and search for the strap, it`t not as same as which one you posted on page 1. Btw when I tried to edit manualy edit every symbol cause I didn`t know how to copy paste from the web to Hex  Undecided , my MSI 280x with Hynix got bricked Sad Now I`m using 2nd bios. Can you tell me about editing the strap? I search " 10 98 02" to located the strap.

You saved my day. Btw do you need any stock rom? I can backup for you. And did i do something wrong with the strap? I just tried to replaced all numbers and letters before and after "10 98 02".
