Yo, this looks rather interesting.
I haven't been mining for a long time (april 2014 or smth like that), which means I've never been mining anything but the old algorithms from launch. Is this any different?

Will there be any pool active at launch or at least a windows wallet?
I could really need this release to get back into the crypto-world, I only have a 7970 matrix plat to start with. Could this be the coin that profits me 1 or 2 280x in a week and then a few rigs the upcoming month?  Wink

I will do my best to make sure a pool is available at launch to make it fair for everyone.
I already contacted some pools and trying to reach others.
There is a bounty for a windows wallet and someone started working on one as we speak.
I am also looking to get a web-wallet running to make it easier for the average Joe.

Excited about this coin! Yes, Zdash will need a web wallet to keep it simple for average joe. I think zclassic and zcash dont have one and it would be great if you guys have one. I am surprised that the code is not ready at github and tomorrow the mining is starting. Anyways, all the best guys.

Zdash the name sounds really the combination of 2 technologies Dash + Zcash. Zdash would be more more powerful than these and bounties announcement will be interesting.

What are the differences compared to all the other Zthings? Any unique selling points?

These clones just look like attempted money grabs, one and all.

I am giving everyone the chance to convince me, but it's not so easy nowadays.  Cheesy

Thank you I will be answering questions as we go. Just a little busy this morning.

So either 1) there is none, or 2) it's "complicated", "will explain later" lol ... suspiscious  Grin ... Then this:

but why Stuhlman, why ?

The eternal question of all altcoins in existence.
Why not?
every project has it's Pros and Cons.
people will at least have a choice to make.
Zdash will offer one of many choices.

So it's case #1, there is no truly unique selling point.  Sorry, I'm outta here. Good luck with your clone coin!

Just a little correction: you can use Claymore's Zcash Miner, not the Dual Miner (ETH+DCR/SIA/LBC).

The download link was absolutely right.

what's the difference between this and zcash or zclassic? Anyway to prevent dev secretly mining like what did in ZcashDarkcoin? There are so many zcash clones coming out , all with same algo, nothing new happening there, what is the point to make new coins like this?

Looking forward to yet another Equihash clone, there is only 2 coins that use that algorithm so far so if a third wants to come onto the scene then I am all open arms, GPU miners are back in the game so why not play.
