oh  Embarrassed I guess its a lot harder to try that route than just going to knownhost.com and request information about the scammer. I will try to email and post to WHT forum about this scamming and involve the host about it. I'm hoping they'd giveaway the information without a fight.

Cyprto world sucks. Some people commit a crime and get away just like that with people money they robbed. And victims can't do anything. No sue, no trial, no court, no jail. Maybe it's time for the crypto community to start focus on developing a system like law enforcement to protect people money from being robbed by unresponsible scammer instead of just focusing on developing new coins only. There are hundreds of coins already. And hundreds of scams also. But never heard of scammers get jailed for their crime.
No. Crypto is freedom. We can't sacrifice freedom for safety. Besides, those who loose money in different scams like ebitz deserves it. They are weak hands and betray Bitcoin. Bitcoin just punish them for treachery and Wasserman is like wolf - the doctor in forest. Weak and ailing animals will be eaten.

Freedom for who? for scammers?? IF Crypto gives freedom to scammers to scam then it should also give freedom to community (investor, miner etc) to do something for their safety/security.. Freedom is not just for scammers. Those so called "weak and ailing" animals you just mentioned also have freedom to seek/get help or to obtain/develop a mean to protect themselves or to cure the ailment and NOT getting eaten individually or collectively (like developing something like law enforcement system or whatever).

By the way, they're saying they have agreement with companies but they will only release the source code after the ICO.

Even one of the companies confirms that.

All they have now is a verbal agreement not backed by anything tangible.

He told the same in Opair.  Grin

Name of the company that confirms something?
Then ask directly from them.

Hi everybody, BitLox here!

We are going to get our firmware updated to use this new exciting coin once the ICO ends and we get access to the tech specifics - SO we of course recommend getting a BitLox NOW....

I though it was some real company..
That is obsolete if some china guy wants to sell his wallets.

Hey everybody.

I'm a real person with a real company. I build hardware wallets.
You can check on our site, check Coin Telegraph, I have recent quotes there.
Check our YouTube page, heck you can see a video of myself chilling at Hong Kong harbor talking about our wallets.

NOW, these guys contacted us and asked if we would be interested in bringing their "ebitz" to our wallet.
1. No technical data was given us. We asked, they declined. They said to wait (like they told everybody)
2. If it is "similar to zcash" then fine. We are already in the planning stages for adding zcash anyways.
3. Hey, we are a small biz and will take publicity anywhere we can get it.
4. In NO WAY WHATSOEVER have we vouched for ebitz. I made that explicitly clear on my posts in their thread (which weirdly enough they did not delete)
5. I'm just living in China. For the last 15 years. I'm from originally Calvert County, Maryland, USA. My name and contact details are not a secret.

Just want to clear up any confusion. OF COURSE I want people to buy our wallets! I could care less about ebitz. I certainly have not "invested" one satoshi in them.

so will you  be able to help track them down after all you are now involved and maybe put some details as to how you were contact either by email or phone or skype. just add something that may help us find the scammer. lets help make bitcointalk a better place.

Hey guys,

I'm just a worried guy but I have some decent claims regarding this ICO, I'm less active recently so I don't know all the details about this project but I noticed a pretty big similarity between this project and "Opair" which turned out as a scam. not saying it's a scam for sure, but people, open your eyes, many people are not here to change the world, but mostly their bank balances.

The first similarity, the frontend website. It's absolutely the same, with a few photos and text changed, but everyone who have visited the Opair frontend website will notice a huge similarity.
The second thing, the Wordpress ICO script. same as Opair as well. there's no way it's a coincidence.

Third thing, both domains were registered privately. someone doesn't want his identity revealed. I wouldn't put much trust in internet strangers asking for bitcoins.

The fourth thing and probably the best one: THE NAMESERVERS. to those familiar with CloudFlare, each account has nameservers that are static for the account. they have probably hundreds of nameservers with their 10Tbps network, two accounts using the same servers are very unlikely. and to my "suprise" both Opair.co and Ebitz.org domains use the same nameservers. (https://i.imgur.com/HXh9W0E.png). I found this minutes ago and I'm confident both domains are using the same Cloudflare account.

The person behind Opair is likely the person behind Ebitz. look how Opair turned out.

Original Ebitz thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1681965.0
Original Opair thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1558596.0

EDIT: extrabyte is already in panic and sent me a PM to try and contact CF before spreading "FUD". too bad CF keeps customer information secretive.

A little blog post I wrote to those unfamiliar with the Opair scam: https://icobusters.wordpress.com/2016/11/30/the-opair-ebitz-relationship/

BUSTED: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1698889.msg17040029#msg17040029

One day, i hope i will be like you, being able to verify and check, to find out all the scams to prevent one falling into it.
I am a victim where i invested $200 in Opair, $1000 in LIR, such pain.

Thanks alot for helping the community, sincerely, btw if you are free, could you provide me some guides or any website where i can learn using all this dns reverse tracking tools or so?

Thanks !

This is very unfortunate..My wife did a blog review on this just like she writes about another coins but we never knew it was run by another scammer, that is very sad. I will tell her in a little while she is having breakfast at the moment, she will be upset.

This is very unfortunate..My wife did a blog review on this just like she writes about another coins but we never knew it was run by another scammer, that is very sad. I will tell her in a little while she is having breakfast at the moment, she will be upset.

I also post it on some of my facebook groups related to crypto currency thinking that it is a good Ico to promote, now I have to dig those pos ton all the facebook groups where I post it so I can delete, people might think I'm part of the marketing team.

Well, here's some data for you - I told them to download our press kit for images etc.

On November 23rd, this is the only connection:

198.211.113.31 - - [23/Nov/2016:10:20:35 +0000] "GET /bitlox_hardware_wallet/docs/Press_Kit.zip HTTP/1.1" 200 5435851 "-" "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/54.0.2840.99 Safari/537.36"

How's that?

Resolves to New York, NY

http://www.infosniper.net/index.php?ip_address=198.211.113.31&map_source=1&overview_map=1&lang=1&map_type=1&zoom_level=7

And they only contacted me via email via their ebitzcontact@gmail.com address.

I am very sad for your loss, like for everyone else who lost in this ICO and I will remove my blog post now as it is not appropriate after this scandal t have it there on my blog, even though other coins have died etc but this was a blatant scam so I must remove it.  Cry

Well, I have to say, as a newbie to crypto, the ideas behind Ebitz are certainly intoxicating. I, like everyone else it seems, was pretty taken. I hope someone does eventually do what the Ebitz team promised, and I hope to be part of it (and get filthy rich).

But after spending more than about 5 minutes seriously thinking about their proposal, I became much more fascinated with the whole process of selling this thing - the psychology of it, the Art of the Con. The reality is that these guys are really kind of morons. History has been littered with them, and they're not special in any way whatsoever. But the idea that a couple of dopes could steal potentially hundreds of thousands of dollars with an Internet forum thread and a Wordpress page is really a testament to this new digital age. What else is happening all around us, all the time, without even knowing it? There's so much potential for great things, but it comes at the cost of all this garbage.

Anyway, for some reason I felt compelled to start writing an allegorical account of my journey through the Ebitz thread, if nothing else than to  ground myself (and others, hopefully) to what can seem like a strange and foreign land. It's not. The weirdness is just weird because people are lying. I gave up pretty quickly on this. The sheer quantity of absurdity was frankly hard to keep up with, and, well, you get the point. Might be a fun activity to finish the story collaboratively though…

"Imagine for a moment that as you are stepping off the subway you notice a man behind a table with a sign that says 'HELP ME SAVE THE WORLD, AND KEEP SOME FOR YOURSELFS.' He's standing there in a crisply pressed pitch black suit, smiling at folks and shaking hands. He seems confident yet earnest - he could be the local kid who sells magazines, or your favorite nephew. But something doesn't look quite right. For one, you notice that at a certain angle of view, the drape that's covering his table abruptly ends, revealing that the man is completely nude from the waist down. Furthermore, he has a badge around his neck with a photo of a soft-skinned elderly woman and the name MARGE. As you inch closer to eavesdrop, it seems that the man does not realize that he is exposed. In fact, another stranger actually comments to him that he is not wearing any pants, but strangely, the man in the suit simply smiles and very politely disagrees. Intrigued, you gravitate closer and learn that the man has just…"
