i have never heard about gnt but you certainly made a big mistake buying ETH because first of all you should never invest in any altcoin for long term because they are never showing any potential in long term. secondly ETH is one of those coins that may die some day or stay half assed forever. and every day a new bug is found in the code.

if you want to invest only invest in bitcoin because it is the most trusted, battle hardened crypto currency that you know is going to keep value and even rise in long term.

even bitcoin is not a 100% but if you give bitcoin like 70% altcoins are 10% and less sure investment!

if i have that amount, my choice is only bitcoin and you should ask for help of your family or your friends to save it into your wallet, better if you have one person that can be trusted for save all of your money so you don't have to worry.

https://golem.network - $9 millions ICO for 20 min. They have money for the next 4 years of development. Why would they fail?

Same story with eth i think. Vitalik like a genius. Nice team. Lot of money.

Zec can replace bitcoin for the next 4-5 years i think, coz z-transactoins is very powerful.

Nope. This is just my mind. I need help here, this is why i created this tread. I red really lot of information for the last month. But i'm not a specialist. I never heard about any altcoin with same ICO. If you know about it - please tell me. I know about DAO, but this is not altcoint as i see.

i would buy metals like gold or silver for long term storage of value

Putting up money or investing money on those coins are just waste for sure even we say you are willing to wait for 6 years i dont think that coins that you mentioned will still exist or die along the way. If you are sure on the money you will put into cryptocurrency then its better to go for Bitcoin all the way since this coins could somehow assure us that it will surely grow on upcoming years.

Very unfortunate that this things happen to you,but my recommendation is to give your 80% to Bitcoin the price chart indicate it is the best coin to bet,the 10% I recommend Burst coin you go to it's official thread here and forum and see how good to invest here, the remaining 10% is Fermat very promising coin with strong potential..

for 6 years since you are not probably going to have any access to your investment and also the fact that you are investing a big amount of 15K i suggest you consider other kinds of investment and even diversify, like investing in gold and bitcoin but never all bitcoin and certainly never all altcoin. keep less than 5% in altcoins and do 50% gold 45% bitcoin

This is a very good diversification on the OP's money on which this is a good move and we should really not put our money on a single investment and we should make some partitions since not all of them does reach success in the end and might fall for upcoming years. Investments have do always risk but minimizing losses is the best way to do by diversify.Gold is a best choice together with bitcoin same as yours.

The best choice I would advise is on bitcoin. Many of the altcoins will not be around in 6 years but bitcoin is the leader of the pack and will remain at the top for a long time. Since you are investing a large amount in a coin, you cannot afford to take big risk and need to find a coin that offers lots of liquidity. Bitcoin is the only coin that satisfies all these condition.

You better buy bitcoin and hold for next 6 years but if you will not be able to get updated regarding bitcoin price and sell your coins inside jail better to deviate your holding to bitcoin = 50%, monero = 20%, ethereum = 20% and zcash = 10%.

Sorry to hear that you will be going to jail for 6 years.

6 year is very long time
you can't control your asset, we don't is altcoin is now good 6 year later still exist or gone and replace another coin, or down price
is good you investment property, and then lending or loan to another person
property every year incraese price
or gold because same every year incraese price and ready physic

I would do something like 50% Bitcoin, 25% Monero, 15% Factom, 10% Ethereum.
(Putting most into Bitcoin and diversification among two or three other coins with strong potential over the next few years.)

Personally I don't invest a ton in brand new coins, but if you put a small amount in a new project there is the chance for a large return.
And also the chance to lose the money completely.

If you have to invest 6 years out you want a sure thing and not some random ass gamble in crapcoins.  It's possible Bitcoin could not even exist by the time you got out.  I'd go 70% silver and 30% Bitcoin if you have a relative that can actually store the silver.  The US dollar itself will probably be dead 6 years from now and metals will be very expensive but there's no guarantee Bitcoin will exist or not.

Here's a brief comparison I did the other day comparing Bitcoin vs silver upside:

If every millionaire hedged 1% of their wealth into Bitcoin, the price would be around $8000 per coin fully liquid, fully capitalized.  But markets aren't fully liquid, so the price per coin would be something like 10x that at maybe $80,000 per coin.  So a +100x from current price.

Now, looking at metals instead, if they do a new Bretton Woods, they would take gold to at least $20,000 at the 40% historical backing rate.  The GSR (gold to silver ratio) would spike somewhere between 15:1 to 30:1 off that, putting silver anywhere from $666-$1333.  That is a +39 to +78x.  As you can see, the upside on silver for wealth transferrence is basically the same as Bitcoin while otherwise having far less risk attributes.

I own large amounts of both so I'm not biased - use Bitcoin as a checking account and metals as savings account.

Gold and silver move at something like 0.85 correlation and it's much easier to move the silver market than gold.  Whatever happens to gold, silver is coming along for the ride.  You've seen how easy it is to move the Bitcoin market and the silver market cap is barely even larger than BTC.

People who are familiar with metals also tend to completely ignore gold and buy only silver when the GSR is over 50:1, then dump silver for gold when the GSR is 30:1 or lower.  If the price of gold spiked to some insane number and the silver price had not caught up, everyone and their mom will immediately dump gold to buy the undervalued silver.  There is no viable situation in the universe where the price of gold skyrockets and silver doesn't.

For actual market analysts and traders, the GSR charts have a hard triple top right under a hard double top, indicating there is nowhere for the value of silver to go except up in relation to gold and that it will likely return to 30:1 or lower in the near future:

After it breaks into the 20's:1 area, that's when people will start dumping silver for gold and it reverses to start the cycle all over again.

If we have a deflationary crash rather than hyperinflation, the DOW floor is around 6000.  The historical DOW to gold ratio seems to trend to around 3-5:1, so even in a deflationary crash the value of gold can still go to $2000, which would probably take silver to a 30:1 GSR of $66.

TLDR:  There is no point whatsoever in buying gold over silver right now.

TLDR2:  Trust nobody, especially some greaseball with a pinky ring named Martin Armstrong

I'll go all of it for Bitcoin your $15000 could triple in 6 years, but of course you need some one you trusted that can access your wallet in case there's a crash or a new innovative comes that comes out that you might want to trade,so many things can happen in 6 years.
