I love these Beans! So green! so fun! In all seriousness... inflation is real... to keep staking at the same level you have to keep adding more coins to the wallet. I'm more than halfway to ROI in Beans but I should have kept buying additional Beans instead of resting on my laurels... a mistake I need to address now while the prices are buyer-favorable.

As for those other coins you mentioned? I saw Alphacrypto's POS experiment... nope! Sticking to my Beans.

Same. The thing I love about Bean Cash is that it's extremely fast, yet dirt cheap. I can have thousands of beans in my wallet at a low cost and stake them for profit. With Alphacrypto's PoS experiment, I have seen how profitable BEAN is in respect to other popular PoS cryptocurrencies. These times where crypto is on a downfall in price, are ideal to buy and stake some BEAN for the future.

That's why Bean Cash is my favorite PoS cryptocurrency today. Which makes it one of the best PoS coins to invest nowadays. Cheesy

The problem with high inflation is that it represents the cost of the network to the holders of the coin.   So in Bitcoin the fees are apparent and optional to only active users paying for those fees, some of the fee is scaled to speed and you can opt to pay a little less for slower speed.

That by itself is not a bad system, if POS is to compare well or even be better it has to be quite a low rate of inflation to new coins for encouraging staking, transmission of transactions.    If the cost is too high, it means that coin is inefficient.   THe whole point of POS or at least the base case is efficiency gains over the often costly POW constant raising of work and complexity to provide security

Nice observation, mate. I've never thought about this before with depth, until now thanks to your explanation. It's good to know the advantages/disadvantages of both PoW and PoS-based cryptocurrencies, to help make an investment decision for the long term. The one cryptocurrency I'm looking forward to investing massively is Ethereum. This is because, ETH will become a PoS cryptocurrency soon. If it manages to solve many of the inherent issues within existing PoS coins, then it'll be quite revolutionary within the crypto space.

Nonetheless, it's good to have a variety of coins using diverse consensus algorithms whenever it's PoW, PoS, DPoS, PoC, PoB, and more. Smiley

Yea Iam waiting for the ETH to Proof of stake switch to have an effect and I hope it will help that network lower its costs.    They can still mess it up but seems very likely a step in the right direction and imo its a positive for all POS coins in helping underline and verify the advantages are real and available to users.     Its a pretty big deal with people can partake in network transactions just with a wallet being online, its far closer to normal participation then mining and of course the original Bitcoin was miner in the wallet to start with.

It could be more then that, by now POS with coins I have that are 4 now soon 5 years old I wanted the idea to be of some replacement to POW model.  Its possible if not probable even, every free market tends towards efficiency by the constant of competitiveness

Stakenet (XSN) is defs one you should look at. Here’s why:

  • They invented TPoS which is arguably the best offline staking solution.
  • They were the first POS/MN coin to implement Segwit, Atomic Swaps and Lightning Network
  • They were the first to perform Lightning Swaps on mainnet and publish a guide so anyone could try
  • They have confirmed integration with Ledger and Xeeda wallets for Cold Staking
  • They formed a partnership with Litecoin Foundation to develop Lightning Network
  • They launched their Cloud Staking platform supporting XSN, PIVX and Stratis currently with more on the way
  • They launched their Masternodes as a Service platform which they setup, maintain and update your MN for you. It is a trustless service so you keep your collateral safely in your own wallet
  • They launched Masternode monitoring and RSB services.

Now that was all 2018 and was to lay the foundation for what’s coming this year. They just released their roadmap for 2019 and its awesome.

The next release is going to be their Multi-currency Light Wallet which is going to be special. Their MN network is going to host all the Blockchains so the wallet doesn’t need too, you interact with the Blockchains by signing Lightning Invoices. This keeps the wallet lightweight as it only needs to hold your private keys so can be put on any device.

The next thing is their DEX which is also run via the MN network and utilises their Lightning Swap tech. This will mean P2P trading, straight from wallet to wallet, not having to trust a third party with your funds. They also have Frank Amato helping with the design to make sure it is fully featured exchange that has everything a pro trader would need.

They have even more coming as well like privacy features, CCPoS  and Dapps hosting. They also have their own Hardware Division which is also going to be bringing new and unique products to market.

The big picture here is that they have a hell of a lot of potential, their Lightning Swap tech alone is game changing. For example a retailer accepts BTC but you have LTC you can pay no problem, the Lightning Swap tech will convert your LTC for you as you make the payment to BTC for the retailer. Oh and the best part is that every services running on the MN network will collect fees for providing the services and all of those fees go back to the MN holders. So for example all the trading fees from the DEX get paid back to MN holders, this provides MNs multiple revenue streams for passive income.

Stakenet are a top tier project with a low tier market cap of $10M. That won’t last forever though as this years releases start dropping and people begin to notice. If you look on Ledgers Github you can see they working on a XSN integration right now.

https://github.com/LedgerHQ/lib-ledger-core/pull/79

There aren’t many if any projects that have more potential for this year than XSN in my opinion.

I agree.  It's a good coin.  How many do you need to get a stake every week?

Well, I hope that Ethereum doesn't take too long to switch to PoS, since many other alternatives are much scalable, and friendlier to the environment than Ethereum. As for PoS, it brings many benefits to its holders and the underlying cryptocurrency's blockchain network. However, it still has its flaws just like any other consensus algorithm known to date. If Ethereum manages to bring a better and improved version of PoS that would solve known issues like the Nothing at Stake Problem, then it'll be quite revolutionary.

Knowing that ETH will become a PoS coin someday, it's good because it brings you an opportunity to profit over the long term if you buy at today's prices. Right now, Ethereum is very low in price compared with 2017's ATH. I have a feeling that once it becomes PoS, it will rise massively in price like never before. Hence, it could be one of the best PoS coins to invest into right now. Smiley

I'm amazed by the level of commitment developers have into making this project not only a cryptocurrency, but also a platform for interoperability within blockchains. Considering XSN's prices today, it's extremely inexpensive compared with its previous ATH. Not to mention, the technologies and features XSN have, would've made it a very valuable cryptocurrency today. The reason why it's still at its lows could be the reaction of Bitcoin's bear market which began last year.

StakeNet would need a lot of marketing/promotion if it wants to attract a lot of investors into it. Everything about it is great, but if it lacks adoption within the mainstream world, then it would simply fail over the long term. Hopefully, that won't be the case, as I'm heavily invested in this exciting cryptocurrency. Which leaves me with Bean Cash, StakeNet, and Ethereum as one of the best PoS coins to invest into right now. Cool

There have been some new PoS coins launch recently that I got into, the first being HotShot coin which is staking amazingly well. Its currently trading on Coinexchange however there isn't much volume but I believe that is due to people not wanting to sell and most have been buying. They will be launching their DEX very soon HotDex which I think will do well. Check it out and let me know what you all think?

The other coin is BKS which was just launched which I think could also do well if the dev team deliver on what they have planned. A Freelance platform for crypto. You can check out the project here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5095700.0 By the way this is pure PoS as well as HotShot coin.

I can promote your project on X to my 100k+ followers for a reasonable price. Just DM me for prices.

Awesome. Thanks for this, mate. I believe that PoS cryptocurrencies are the way of the future, since they're faster and cheaper than PoW to operate. By staking different PoS coins you can build a passive income that will last for years. HotShot being a new PoS cryptocurrency, lacks trading volume, yet it has potential of becoming into something big in the future (if widely adopted by people in the mainstream world). Having a DEX of its own, it’s quite interesting as it could contribute towards the growth of the cryptocurrency itself.

One new PoS coin that's worth considering is x42. It's not listed on Coinmarketcap yet, but it's being traded at a couple of exchanges such as STEX and Raisex. The best thing about this PoS cryptocurrency is that it's fee-less, just like EOS and Nano. Which means that it could become widely adopted in the future, as people realize its benefits.

Nonetheless, PoS coins like x42 and Bean Cash are the best ones for long term investment, due to their highly active development teams and communities. Best of all, Bean Cash is highly rewarding due to its high-stake rate per year. Smiley

I agree.  It's a good coin.  How many do you need to get a stake every week?

With 15,000 you get a stake every day roughly so somewhere around 2000 would get you 1 stake a week.

It is an interesting thread. I must suggest one coin, with which I am very pleased and I think they have great potential
It's Blocknode $BND. ANN https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4392523
First of all, when I trying to add new coin in my portfolio after coin specification, always check dev team activity. And for now, they are very active. BND wallet and network working very fast and well. I think if you have 10-20k in the wallet it is enough to get a daily stake for sure. Also now is very cheap, and maybe it is a good time to buy.

Listed on CMC and MNO

Blocknode is very interesting. Being a masternode and PoS coin, it gives you double the rewards over the long term. Prices are insanely cheap these days, probably because of the bear market that started last year. I believe that it's a good investment nowadays, especially if its development team is very active. Given how many new cryptocurrencies have been launching with PoS, it seems that it’s the future consensus algorithm of crypto.

Best of all, anyone can stake coins in their wallet without consuming much energy. Until now, I consider Bean Cash, x42, PIVX, Magi, Blocknode, and Diamond one of the best PoS coins to invest right now. Among these coins, Diamond is the most limited in supply, yet undervalued. With a highly prominent dev team, and supportive community, it could reach new heights in the future. Just my thoughts Grin

Smiley

You're welcome my friend!

Well for anyone that did get into HotShot when I posted this would be very happy now as the price has since gone up from around 1300 sats to close to 3k sats and is now currently trading at around 2400 sats. The team has just launched their HotDex exchange which I'm sure will be a success as they plan to have the cheapest listing fee on the market and also they give projects the opportunity to list for free by voting.

Yes I looked at x42 and I like what I see, thanks for the tip mate!

I can promote your project on X to my 100k+ followers for a reasonable price. Just DM me for prices.

Glad to be of help to you. Honestly, I believe that HotShot is quite a bargain these days, as well as, other prominent PoS cryptocurrencies. It's the perfect opportunity to buy some more coins, for better staking rewards. Being a huge supporter of decentralized exchanges myself, I consider them to be the future of crypto trading.

As for x42, I believe that it needs more marketing/promotion, to get noticed within the crypto sector. Its advantages are numerous (like being feeless and extremely fast) but if people are not aware of its existence, it won't be rising that much in price. I'd recommend that if you stake x42 or any other PoS coin, you should divide your balance into multiple transactions by using the "Coin Control" feature (look for more info on Google). This will allow you to optimize your wallet for better and constant staking rewards.

Nonetheless, it's good to know the variety of options to choose from, as they can allow us to build our own passive income in many ways. So far, my favorites are: StakeNet, x42, Bean Cash, PIVX, HotShot, and Magi. But there are other good old PoS coins (like Peercoin) which are worth looking at. Smiley

Any useful link to x42 coin? the first time I hear about him from you.
It was not a Masternode coin, only POS?

Yeah I agree that HotShot is a bargain right now at the current price. I actually paid a lot more then what its currently trading at but I'm okay with that as the stakes have been coming in daily at a nice consistent rate. And also the dev have released their HotDex which shows that they mean business and want HotShot to succeed. More developments are coming in the near future like a forum where everyone can get together and talk everything crypto and also have some input on which coins they would like to see listed on HotDex plus a lot more. I'm very bullish on HotShot as it should do well in the long term.

x42 does have some presence on Twitter as I have seen a couple big accounts tweeting about it but I do agree that it needs more marketing and people need to know more on what x42 offers the crypto world. All PoS coins are at bargain prices right now so take your pick, just make sure to look for coins that have a solid foundation and active dev team/community as they are the ones that should do well in the long term.

I heard that there is a more modern technology called SPoS. Just read about the Sunny King project called VSYS.

I have seen many PoS coins decline in value over time, making your stakes less profitable than ever.

However, even though this happens, there are a very few coins that prove to become worth to hold for the long term.

Nevertheless, I would like to know which PoS would be best to invest into these days, according to market movement. I'm always on the look for good PoS coins to put my money into, and make my profits grow for the long term.  Smiley

best proof of stake coin is STAKENET, without doubt !

I am not holding these coins but I have heard that VeChain is distributing VeChainThor tokens for holding and also ICON give 7% yearly profit, but I do not know how many coins you have to hold in your wallet.
