Lol! that is not even said as the basic principle to profit is the opposite, you would sell at the right time and that right time is when you feel you are getting the right profit you expected. Never sell when you are losing because if you do that, you only show your lack of trust with bitcoin and you will never gonna succeed in the long run.

OP is talking about not holding when bitcoin was near ATH. When bitcoin prices were seeming to fall down, you will lose if you prefer to keep on holding.

But I am not agreeing with OP, and I am just holding my bitcoins for another bounce back.

If you buy high, you can hold for higher prices to get profits.

I'm not losing every time I sold my coins because I convert it to our fiat money and I can buy what I want. It can provide my daily needs and pay my bills, so it is really worth it. I don't care much if I sell it in high or low because I got my bitcoins in different day and time.

Probably, it is one of the traders strategies, but if you only have not enough money to have a large capital. You cannot earn a lot in fast way if you have a small capital, especially you want a fast way of earning, you cannot trust the value changes of a certain altcoin

yeah, every traders have their own strategies, with small capital we need long time to make big profit unless there is a pump on the coins and we sold it in high price. in trading we should be patient to always check the price so we don't missed the price we want and we can get what we want.

actually you are doing the right thing but thinking the wrong one!
what you do is what every experienced trader does. you sell when you reach your profit target. trading is no place for regrets. if you made your profit then take it and be satisfy with it. and if the coin went higher just take the profit and be happy you made a profit instead of losing and think about your profit target next time to be more accurate.

I don't think that you can always earn from trading just because you were patient. For example, you bought an altcoin at 1000 satoshi each because you thought it was a good coin. And so you waited for a couple of weeks, and the price didn't even move that much. And then you wait more and more since you're very patient. But the price was just decreasing. Did your patience help you? No, it did not. You simply just waited and waiting doesn't require any skill at all. Everyone has the capacity to wait.

I think you should be able to identify which coins aren't stagnant, which is pretty easy to do btw so your waiting would worth something. Just a piece of advice, if the coin isn't moving that much, if the coin isn't even decreasing, then it's probably a dead coin so don't buy it.

Yes, I agree with you.
If we selling bitcoin we lose, in long terms bitcoin price will increase more than now maybe cross 1000$ again after few weeks. No one know that. but i believe that this cryptocurrancy had a lot of surprice for us ( i mean bitcoin community ). Many people now Trust bitcoin and use it arround the world, that is to say bitcoin price go up.
So, the conclusion is do not sell your bitcoin.

For me,you lose if, you sell at the wrong time ( ) or when you're being forced to sell because of some 'urgent' need/circumstance.
 
Selling because you need to, eliminates any sort of control you have. Profits are all left to chance since you have to sell whether it's high or low.

There's also the cases where those who receive weekly payments proceed to sell as soon as they receive their 'wages'. It's automatic and doesn't consider anything else other than converting into fiat regardless of price.
I feel that is also a loss and results in a lot of missed opportunities for some.

I do convert some of my bitcoins when I need money but I don’t do that when price goes down because I have long term approach and I believe that bitcoin is worth much more than the current situation. Even if I can’t buy in lower levels then I don’t even sell it in that case. One should buy or hold bitcoin up to his capacity of loss bearing.

Patience is much important with bitcoin to gain the profit, but everytime patience won't be effective. Its better to plan for a targeted price and sell once you reach it, else with over expectation holding with patience results in loss.

You only lose if you sell with a big loss on your initial investment or capital ! In trading price votality is normal me personally I get used to it so wheter the certain coin goes down I know in the will rise up on the near future ! So my advice keep holding until you get your desired profit!

If you are a traders then it is not good to sell every time because you will need to wait for the good time and and do not have to sell in those timing when the price of bitcoin will be in the way to increase more higher in the coming future. The successful trader is that who have their extra money for trading and with which he will be able to trade for longer time.
