Well the current price is still a decent price to considered. Remember exact 2 years ago today, the price was around $260. Although it's a loss for those who bought at around $1,000 recently, they can make up with that loss soon. Don't eye for profits right now for those person involved on that buyers at around $1,000. I think it was manipulation by using the news the Chinese government was inspecting 3 different exchanges and then spinning the news to create FUD saying it was a raid or something and I think that is why the price crashed.

I think what the image is implying is that we should "hodl" or hold even if it looks like the boat is sinking. Thus the image of a sinking boat with the word "hodl" on it. Relating this to the title and the first sentence of the OP, which is actually the continuation of the title. The whole sentence would be "You only lose if you sell." Hence, what OP is implying is that we should hold even if we see that the prices are sinking or going down. Because the moment you give in to the selling panic and frenzy that is when you will lose money.

There is no assurance in an investment. We can't say if it will still go back into $1000. Yet, I'm hopong for that because I am also holding bitcoins. Yes I think this the right time to buy bitcoin because I think this month the price of bitcoin will turn into $1000+ like last week.

That is true but if you sell your money for a good reason let us say you have another business and you really need money for that business, instead of borrowing money from a bank or other lending company then it is practical if you get first your investment rather than borrowing, interest rate is could be higher than profit you can earn.

I don't think that you can always earn from trading just because you were patient. For example, you bought an altcoin at 1000 satoshi each because you thought it was a good coin. And so you waited for a couple of weeks, and the price didn't even move that much. And then you wait more and more since you're very patient. But the price was just decreasing. Did your patience help you? No, it did not. You simply just waited and waiting doesn't require any skill at all. Everyone has the capacity to wait.

I think you should be able to identify which coins aren't stagnant, which is pretty easy to do btw so your waiting would worth something. Just a piece of advice, if the coin isn't moving that much, if the coin isn't even decreasing, then it's probably a dead coin so don't buy it.

I just bought a few yesterday and I won't be selling that ever , just gonna let it stay unless I'm in need of money and the rest it's currently invested in bitcoins , I decided that half of the money I converted I will let it stay in my btc wallet and with the other half I'll invest in some other altcoin like dash or I'll just end up buying more monero after bitcoins price reaches 1500$.

i don't like the "per day" part but i like the "taking small profit" part.
because it may not be exactly possible to earn profit every day, there are down times and you have to watch the market day and night which is not possible.

Today might be a good price and you can sell if you want to. Only problem is that we tend to hold our coins "a little bit longer" because we think that the price might increase even more. We hold our coins for so long and then when the price is starting to decrease, we panic sell our coins which leads to even more losses.

Basically if you sell at any given time, you will lose the chance to sell your coin at a much higher price like 10k$ or even 100k$. I think it will be still depends in your strategy you should have different margin setup when you are in trading so that every price increase and every price decrease you can make a good profit and decision .. just set a i think 4 tier set different margin is ok for your first tier sell your bitcoin as sample at 15% increase and the 2nd tier 30% and other are different margin..

What a nice fairy tale. I wonder if that would ever wonder if you invested in an altcoin and the devs have scammed the people. What's dead is dead in altcoin trading, and most things in life in general. There are times when a bad thing is replaced by a good thing but that's mostly not the case. I guess this scenario may continue for decades for sure. I am holding the coins since it was $450, but that doesn't mean I am not selling them.

There are people who bought bitcoin when the market value was around $800 to $1,100 , and if they should sell at the current market price of  $2,540 I don't think they have lost, but rather, they have made a lot of profit. part of general rule inside trading alts is never to sell when you are at loss allowing yourself to hold and keep reading accordingly you will only sell when there would be an incoming issue that will trigger the downfall. you will only lose if your timing of selling is a way behind from its current value.

I think it's opposite, greediness is the most powerful enemy that you will be fighting to. And you can even lose more if you will be greedy.

As I've experienced, when the price did went up to it's new ATH for the past weeks, I didn't managed to believe with my instinct and hoping for more increase.

But for just a few hours the price went back and with that decision of being greedy, I lost some potential profit.

Yes, after bitcoin achieved big value in relatively short term, there are plenty of altcoins are coming up everyday. If we choose them randomly, we may lose at the end definitely. We must be careful for choosing the right coins for both trading as well for investing. Honestly I never recommend altcoins for investments, they are only good for short term trading.

See I think this is the sort of mindset that I can get behind but only partially, I do think at some point you should be able to sell in order to minimize losses. But if you're one of those people that are just going to keep selling when you're down a little bit, then you're just going to be a shitty trader who isn't going to make any money from this in the least, you should know when to hold your cards and know when to fold them as well to be able to maximize profits and minimize losses.

Yes, bitcoin is not just for selling. Holding bitcoin is also profitable and I think it is much safer than taking risk in gambling and trading. Also, you will find out that holding and saving bitcoin in your wallet will be useful when an emergency happens or when you find yourself needing money and you do not have cash.

Holding bitcoin is also much better than using it in gambling hoping that you will quickly earn money. Many have mistaken using bitcoin for betting then lose huge amount in the end instead of doubling or earning through playing gambling.
