-1 for NXT for sure. Some week ago I paid .5 BTC for 6 months special membership coworking space at http://www.locusworkspace.cz/, great place in Prague, accepting BTC even greater. No Coinbase, direct transfer smooth and easy and got an invoice (in CZK). R.

Hi, A question, and an idea. First the question: I'm not sure how to do this (or indeed if it's possible), I run a charity ( www.Exeter-Pirate-Day.com) that will take bitcoin donations all year via the website, on the day itself there is a tour around the city, where bitcoin can be donated when we are there, but only then. how is the best way to add this to CoinMap? The suggestion: There seems to be people wanting more coins added, and other people wanting litecoin removed. How about showing only bitcoin by default, but if somebody logs-in they can elect to show litecoin, dogecoin, darkcoin, whatever as well? This way the map is very scalable for peoples wants/needs without confusing new potential bitcoin merchants. ~S

Is there some sort of notify option for coinmap, so that i can bo notified trough email when a new venue is added ?
There is. I registered with them, paid my fee for the life time subscription and it notified me of the 3 changes that happened in my 50km radius since but I don't find them now in my inbox Most likely I found them in this very same thread though.

You can add a schedule to locations. Opening hours or something it is called but I doubt this applies to your thing. As much as you might want this extra publicity, please refrain from adding it to OSM as it would most likely get removed anyway and people who head to the location to see their neighbor who accepts bitcoin would also be frustrated. Happened to me twice and I removed both. There seems to be people wanting more coins added, and other people wanting litecoin removed. How about showing only bitcoin by default, but if somebody logs-in they can elect to show litecoin, dogecoin, darkcoin, whatever as well? This way the map is very scalable for peoples wants/needs without confusing new potential bitcoin merchants.
Problem is we are adding this to a database that should basically contain only relevant information and yeah, to bitcoin users this is relevant information and bitcoiners are 5 million but how many are darkcoiners? Is it really justified to go and spam OSM with all 934 coins? People want their coins on coinmap as it is precisely a sign of relevance and that is why NXT sent their sheeplies over to spam this thread just as any new coin goes and sends theirs over to the alt-coin list maintainers. If the data was not in the main OSM DB I would support your idea absolutely but on the main layer … not so much. At least not for darkcoin.

Since it is a tour around the city you probably shouldn't, even if you only put it on the map during the actual hours of the event. A map is not made for "things" that move around. I'm sure there are better ways to promote your event that are less hassle.

Webhallen is a Swedish electronics/computer/gaming company that accepts Bitcoin, but not at the cash registers.(purchase online at their site, then get the goods at any of their store locations)
In the Swedish OpenStreetMap community at #OSM.se oftc.net we talk about how to tag a business like Webhallen who accepts the payment only online and not at the cash registers. Webhallen uses BitPay. Some of the osm members want to use a new tag payment:online:bitcoin=yes to tell the world that purchases can be done online, but not at the cash registers.
The time to make a purchase took me 1 and a half hour. 1 hour for BitPay to confirm for Webhallen that I paid my Bitcoins and half an hour for their storage system to calculate if they had the product I wanted. Any ideas? Should I stick with payment:bitcoin=yes or do we start using this new tag payment:online:bitcoin=yes?

If the local OSM community suggested it like that, I think you should honour their opinion. My own is, however, that there should be no special mention of "online Bitcoin payments" in OSM, since it is a map. If something is online, it has no place on the map, and thus it doesn't matter at all whether or not you can pay online with Bitcoin. (A possible exception would be if you can pay online and then pick up your stuff at a local store, maybe.)

payment:bitcoin=yes is a de facto tag for businesses accepting Bitcoin. They had an issue on how and in what way Bitcoin is accepted. So I think they could come up with a new tag for that. If the local OSM community suggested it like that, I think you should honour their opinion.
I'm in a discussion with them right now. We are discussing this. It is not set in stone. One of them says they are agreeing with what you say. Though he/she didn't make clear on exactly what so I have asked for citations. Still waiting for an answer. Asked 4 minutes ago.(now the time is 21.10 here) I do not know if they are as interested as they say they are. I would receive much more input if they were genuinely interested I believe. I mean somebody invented their own tag and removed the de facto tag. In good faith they tried to help but instead deleted data.

I've fixed the tag that said that Bitcoin is not accepted to Bitcoin is accepted, because it simply is. The edits before were probably in good faith and I put a forum post in the Swedish language at the Swedish osm forum, linking to it from my edit of the node. Here is the new edit http://www.openstreetmap.org/node/1752418067I let the other tag that they added be there. It is payment:online:bitcoin=yes and I think it means that you can pay online at their site but not at the cash registers with Bitcoin.

I've just added payment:offline:bitcoin=no. I don't like very much the online/offline subtag: probably we should choose a better one (actually all bitcoin transactions are online, if they are registered into the blockchain).
