Has it not worked in JOSM? I just tested and put in the coordinates. Now it shows your business is on the Marlborough Avenue. Are you sure that is your business location? Editing failed - make sure JOSM or Merkaartor is loaded and the remote control option is enabled Yes, I moved. I guess it would be easier for me to just delete my old node and copy and paste all the information from it onto my new node location? Also, I'm part of the offline/online debate. Online store, offline pickup, online/offline (bitcoin/cash) payment. Everything's stored in my garage and not on display, and my hours are effectively "whenever someone wants to pick stuff up between dawn and midnight".

I've just added payment:offline:bitcoin=no. I don't like very much the online/offline subtag: probably we should choose a better one (actually all bitcoin transactions are online, if they are registered into the blockchain). did you explain that in the wiki?

Done. Actually the better location for this kind of discussions is the mailing list. Ciao!

JOSM is a java program you download to your computer(or run directly). You can get it here http://josm.openstreetmap.de/ though your solution also works

Done. Actually the better location for this kind of discussions is the mailing list. Ciao! I opened a thread at the tagging mailing list https://lists.openstreetmap.org/pipermail/tagging/2014-August/018760.html with the title " Bitcoin: Distinction of purchase through website and cash register/Point of sale"

I have nothing to say but...
GOOD JOB.
It's really cool to have a database of places which accept bitcoin.

So far the discussion is going in this direction... > One idea that got proposed was payment:online:bitcoin=yes/no + > payment:offline:bitcoin=yes/no > where online=purchase through website and > where offline=cash register/Point of sale > > Any ideas?
If you are going to tag online payment methods (and I'm not 100% sure that's ok for this database) then I would use payment:online:bitcoin=yes instead of payment:bitcoin=yes. Payment:xxx=* is a tag reserved for offline payment methods, so you can look at it as though it already has the offline tag. Janko Here is a direct link to the above discussion: https://lists.openstreetmap.org/pipermail/tagging/2014-August/018771.html (It is not too late to make your view seen on that mailing list) What do you think? Do you think the discussion is going in the right direction? If yes I could change all Webhallen tags to payment:online:bitcoin=yes and be done with it. They'll stop appearing on CoinMap but maybe CoinMap code could be changed at github so that they will appear again on the map?

Yes, I do, but I don't like the word "online". May "website" be a better one? They'll stop appearing on CoinMap but maybe CoinMap code could be changed at github so that they will appear again on the map?
+1 Ciao!

Is it possible to comment on a venue's acceptance of bitcoin?
Wrap city is listed in montreal quebec canada, however when we went there they refused bitcoin and only have an ATM by the door. They should not have a "restaurant" icon representing them.

IT DOESN'T WORK. I WROTE PAYMENT:BITCOIN=YES A FEW DAYS AGO, AND NOTHING HAPPEND. Bar zum scharfe Egg Aeschstrasse 2 4107 Ettingen You wrote a wrong tag, here[1] and here[2]. You have to put "payment:bitcoin" as key, and "yes" as value. http://www.openstreetmap.org/node/274979191https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/299283961I'm fixing it now. Ciao!

I just launched http://coinmap.org/It's a map showing places where Bitcoin is accepted. All you have to do is to add payment:bitcoin=yes tag to your venue in OpenStreetMap. Venues are added automatically (database is updated every 15 minutes). The map also tries to determine the type of the venue from OSM tags and assign the correct icon. thanks for the info, very useful!

The Metropolitan Hotel at 1 Bridge Street Street Sydney Australia now accepts Bitcoin through Bitpos. This hotel is very close to the Opera House and has 4 levels including a great rooftop bar. This hotel will undoubtedly become the Bitcoin flagship hotel of Sydney city. On Tuesday the 9th September at 6pm there will be a Bitshebang Social gathering on the rooftop bar to celebrate. All Welcome. www.metropolitanhotelsydney.com.au
