First, I want to thank all the Senior forum members who helped me get to where I am today.  Special shoutout to philipma1957, Finsy, Kilo17, notlisted3D, MarkAZ, ProudClown, Hawkfish007 and many more).  Special shout out to my local mining brothers (Lac and Richard) with their priceless Labor in time of need.  Of course I can't end it without thanking my real brother Galang and sister Hong for always believing in their brother.  They never ask "WHY, but always HOW can I help?".  To my brother in law Nhat with all his genius designs and countless hrs helping me, all this is not possible without his help.  

Most important thanks is to my wife and kids who are willing to put up with all my crazy projects, the "why is there a 2 car garage but I'm parked in the rain, why do we have the AC on in the WINTER? and best one, ARGHHHH, the POWER is out again DAD!!".   Only miners know the crazy extent we're willing to go for our hobby!  Hahaha

Part 1 - Data Center Mining Garage

I will update more as the build is still in progress but this build allows me to support up to 490 GPUs using minimal space via 7 x 42U rack.  It's easier to control heat flow with these enclosed unit and movable heat walls.  I will also compare it to my previous Open air rig design which is very more difficult to control heat.















Part 2 Sexy Shed ( Starts on Page 14)

Thanks Phillip.  Learned most of my mining and power stuff from you back in the Antminer days!  Some of the FANs you're seeing in the server cases are the Ultra Kaze fans you recommended me from back in the IBM 4KW days.  I still use those PSU to power 5 x 470 rigs.  They are BEAST!  Finally have 550 AMP service.  =)  I will post my Shed build out too which is completely Open air designed.  


This is my previous Open Air Garage design which is not as scalable as it's harder to control heat flow.  This isn't my normal layout , its just for the winter and to look pretty for the picture.  This is layout is not very ideal for heat management.  It's just to show that I've tried so many different rig type and flow layout designs before changing to this Server case design.

 


P.S I will be getting this AWESOME Simplemining.net Rig resetting tool soon to remotely manage all my Rigs and be able to automatically reboot any of my rigs that are freezed or just need remote reboots.

Yes, standard off the shelf stuff as I mentioned which also includes the 4U server case.  GPU are mounted to the case.  I did buy 2 of the Spotswood drop in frame but didn't realize how much effort it is involved to install it.  Very high quality stuff and I would recommend his product to anyone but it comes with a bag with what appears to be over 70-100+ little screws. I have about 50 plus rigs to build, I don't have that kind of cycle to mess with all those screws, I thought it would be a 5mins max install for the drop in but it wasn't.  The benefit of the the drop is that it's more secure if you want to do vertical mounting of the case which I won't be doing.  So I gave them to my friend.  

P.S It does take a lot of work to build 1 of these nicely so please don't go discounting the people who actually makes pre-cofigured rigs for sell at higher markup, as they do have spend a good amount of time to do it the correct, professional way.  These cases do scratch very easy. 

But the student has certainly passed his teacher.   Very  good to see  some seeds grow into nice  trees so to speak.

It is going to be a nice setup, can't wait to see it when it's done!

This is why it's important to get quality Risers.  This one have the Copper burn right thru.   Hawkfish007  sells good quality risers and he ships very fast usually same price for express 2-3 business days.  Purchased over 200 risers from him with hardly any issues.  I wish I found him sooner as I must have burn thru easily over 70 bad ones before that.
