There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

What are your opinions what will happen with ubiq price and difficulty after next eth difficulty bomb?

Eth earnings will reduce by 40% in next few months, and i think alot of people will go to ubiq, and then we are screwed  Cry

That is what I would expect to happen in anything but crypto. What will in fact happen is when the next ETH difficulty bomb goes off, ETH will jump 40%. Miners will continue to mine ETH for the same daily profits.

The name of this coin is cool, reminds me of one of my favourite books by Philip K DIck, Ubiq.

lowering the payout treshhold to 1ubq would at least bring me into your pool for a shot.
Still seeking for a european pool compareable to ubiqpool.

**************************************************************************
Weird situation right now...

Claymore 9.8 reports 237mhs all the time, pool stats say short/long roundabout 210mhs.
No rejected shares, miner fresh started (same numbers)
Any hints what can cause these (imo huge) diffs?

Hi all - I have published a two-part interview with Ubiq's community manager Alex Sterk:

Part 1:
Alex Sterk is Community Manager for the Ubiq Slack, as well as the CEO of Ubiq Technology Inc, and also a Ubiq holder. I spoke to Alex about his background, the origins of Ubiq, what’s in store for Ubiq miners, and much more.
https://steemit.com/ubiq/@badastroza/interesting-people-18-alex-sterk-community-manager-on-ubiq

Part 2:
In this second and final part, Alex discusses GeoCoin as well as other tokens on Ubiq, the team behind the project, security, governance, and the future of Ubiq.
https://steemit.com/ubiq/@badastroza/interesting-people-19-alex-sterk-on-geocoin-the-ubiq-team-security-governance-and-more

Enjoy!

I really like everything about ubiq. Hopefully with more and more projects launching/migrating to Ubiq blockchain it will start to get the recognition that it deserves.

hello,

New to Ubiq! It got mentioned in some article I read with some other coins and this one was the only one I didnt knew so thought let me check it out.

Read the op and roadmap and some pages of the tread. From what I understand there are some consensus lv changes made to the protocol. So what are these changes exact ? We have the different mining algo. But dont seem ant other changes listed on the OP? probably is me though, maybe someone could highlight some things? Or point me in the right direction?

How is ubiq in regards to scaling for example ? How is it different than eth in regards to launching icos/ dapps on the platform?

Check out the UBQ site. UBQ looks promising to me. You can buy in cryptopia. (Linked my signiture.)
At its current valuation its a good buy. The team is essential trying to improve ethereums short comings in their own platform.

Three posts above yours, I posted a two-part interview with a member of the team. A LOT of information in there that you might find useful as a primer, and links to their slack etc where you can ask them these questions directly.

So this is again one more project that will compete with smartcontracts and crowdsales? So this coin is aiming that they have better technology than ETH or it will be used for completely different things?
