yes anonymity is an great issue for what government is not accepting bitcoin but it is not the only reason out there. I think government will accept is or has to when people can use it flawlessly that means people should not get scammed or the whole country face any disaster because of this new monetary system that can case a huge panic and that's why government is not letting it to start

You Don't need to worry friend....government will have to adopt the bitcoin today or tomorrow...when you have a currency that is fully decentralised. When you have a future proof currency, a currency that will surely boost up the economy...dump down frauds..and will give a financial system that is fully transparent..and above all when evey person is adopting to it...No choice will be left with the government other than accepting BTC
I hope so that. If it really comes true that will be great. Though many countries have already adopted the bitcoin also it's true that many governments fear bitcoin to be accepted. Just hoping will come a moment when there no choice left the bitcoin and the government will be enforced except bitcoin in any way.

I don't know if there are means to make governments accept the Bitcoin but I know that they will embrace Bitcoins if they can clearly see they could make the use of it and make money of it. And the one thing that disturbs governments the most is that they can't control, supervise and fully regulate Bitcoin.

Just yesterday I have read a topic about Russia who are making plans about bitcoin adoption on their territory. I think only the government itself can make such decision to accept bitcoin on the same level as fiat. I think Russia just wants to be the first in that, just to show hole they are modern and technologically developed.

Of course the one that will have the decision for their country is their own government itself. That will include all aspects rotating around their respective economy which will now include the art of accepting cryptocurrencies. Yes Russia is on the news recently about recognizing bitcoin but also state that it's too early to discuss it legally. It is expected that it will really take long time before it was recognized by other countrues just like in Japan although that was a good step since they make a move about it rather than being silent.

I think anonymity is the reason why people love to ise bitcoin. No government will sue you if you have a lot of bitcoin for money laundering, they will not know who you are, or their wallets owners. Anonymiyis the reason why people use bitcoin freely, but that is also one of the reason why they can't accept bitcoin, one is it can be used in illegal activities. That is given with the anonymity of bitcoin, it is really the right coin for doing so. I think because of the decentralization too.

Especially on democratic/republican state or country where the power rests in the hand of the people. As long as the majority of people in a particular country would want to legalize bitcoin, the government has to accept it. Well I think that the government should not wait for that scenario. Just accept bitcoin and utilize its capability and use it to become the government's advantage.

I have a question for you. How to make governments accept bitcoin and not see it as a threat? So that one could use bitcoin in daily use, such as paying taxes or grocery shopping. What is there, other than anonymity, thats making governments fear bitcoin and cryptocurrencies?
Bitcoin is not entirely anonymous. So states can determine your identity. I'd recommend using Tor for anonymity. If the tax on the money earned by the bitcoin is made, the states will accept it. It just needs more time.

Depending on which country we come from, we the people are the government and if we feel bitcoin can econmically change the affairs of the country.....all that will be needed is voicing out our suport for the digital currency. What is there, other than anonymity, thats making governments fear bitcoin and cryptocurrencies?
its not about anonymity that they consider as a threat but losing 'control' of how the government receives money. And allowing people to freely use it can some how guarantee low collection of revenues at the end of it.

problably the government just fear about the price fluctuation of bitcoin. If bitcoin is used by most of people of the country of course anything happen with bitcoin will affect the economy of the country. So I think if bitcoin is spread evenly, the price of it will be more stable then no one can be the hoarder anymore.

It's possible one of the reasons why the government does not want to accept bitcoin. But I think the underlying reason bitcoin is decentralizes, when the government interference then the decentralized nature of bitcoin could be lost. Plus the government felt disadvantaged by the use of bitcoin by citizens. Thank you

We should have a good approach to the government officials and a strong connections through these kind of digital currency advantages to peoples lives, and in order to convince them in accepting this currency this must be having pilot evaluations and monitoring of bitcoin usage to the people in the whole world. With these situation it must have a firm understanding between government and investors of fiat and digital crypto currency for this kind of transition.
Yes the good approach may help on bring a establish relationship between the government and the bitcoin community. Bitcoin has an ability to attract people to used it because of its fast transaction and it may be an good investment because its value always change depending on the support of the users whether they used bitcoin on their daily basis. But if the government will take over bitcoin maybe corruption will lead in some aspects.

Don't be so sure about "anonymity" IMHO, Gov's are following, not really making things, they make us beleive they do $ are leading, that's sad but true, Authorities/Govs are following, trying to preseve their "establishement" Bitcoin is "free" and really disruptive.. Watch out for the next revolution, as big as the event of the Internet becoming public in the 90's.. Bitcoin is now like Internet in the early 2000's, before Facebook, Google ans all others !!! Quote me in 10 years ;P

Thank you Certainly, it could be hard for them of they would use bitcoin since what they have in control is only fiat money, thus if another currency would be initiated to be used in the community with he suplort of government, the control is not on them but on its develeoper which government are affraid of since those developers could be more powerful than them if it happen so.

I guess I'm lost. Why would you want governments to support Bitcoin? I thought Bitcoin was the big anti-government anti-fiat rockstar that was going to help libertarians take over the world. What changed? Did I miss a meeting?
