Can I still mine musicoin with a laptop or do I need dedicated mining hardware?

If you have an watercooled dual 1080ti notebook you can do it.

Just kidding - the normal notebooks are not really efficient and get too hot while mining.

Im new to mining. Was just wondering, because this is still lowcap maybe not so many miners -> low difficulty

So... Mining GPU like one for Ethereum, since its ETHhash that should work right, same algo?
Any suggestions?

I was thinking that there'll maybe be an influx of cheap used GPUs once Ethereum switches to PoS....

You can mine music just fine with a gpu rig , its less memory the DAG Epoch is small at the moment , its worth getting in now before the Diff Bomb coming up end of year , its to control supply and demand , will help prices , they needed to give the coin value after changing form 1MC= Play Model, with an infinate coin supply

so far Musicoin has the best and most solid platform for trying to do what they want todo, im hedging this coin for next year , HODL!
they in Beta at the mo , thats gone well, HardMagazine did a test with it , i think thats what they are called.

im seeing mid 2018 as a good point to off load coins , loads of projects going live , gaining traction , Right now markets need big correction , china gone for a while they will be back, more solid regulated, but they will bring trillions back with them

It is identical, but way faster to mine. I don't think that bigger amounts of gpu are dumped out as long as there are enough dagger hashimoto alternatives to mine. ;-)

Suggestions for GPU? At the moment:

- gtx1060 / gtx1070
- rx570 / rx580

Older Cards are working still good too, like the r9-290, r9-380, but you have to keep in mind that these are oldschool meanwhile, cause they have much higher power consumption.

Huge pump could happen any time in previous 3 month but it didn't .
What did change now?

Guys, don't wait pump, but wait long-term increase of value. Be ready to hold for a few years and then you will get your jackpot. I believe in this project )

There is no logical reason this coin is going to moon even in years.  I have better places to HODL my funds.

Depends on what you define as "moon". I don't see this ever hitting say $10 a coin, but I can see it hitting a few dollars a coin, especially once the difficulty bomb hits. This clearly won't happen next month, but I see it going slowly up to say $4 a coin by next year based on the timelines and current progress. Most important factor will be what artists they can get on this or even if they can get a good sized label to get their artists to use it, not just some indie nobodies

why the sudden change of heart, just a few pages ago u were in. i don't see this exploding over $10 a coin, at the current pace this coin going it shows promising results, artist are starting to accept it as payment, events are accepting it, and no telling which artist can hop on board anytime. this coin can possibly reach a few bucks i wouldn't say it will explode like others have with $50+ and maybe not even $10.

Please be aware of such risk when using nom nom pool. The guy Jared aka pcmode (now a member of musiconomi) who is in charge has a history of payout issues with his miners.

will musicoin put out their own official mining site? seems like we're now supporting another coin with our mining.
