Most sites, at least dice sites, provide either a login url (Just-Dice, SatoshiDice) or ask for a user name and password (BitDice, PrimeDice).

One of the benefits of Bitcoin gambling is betting anonymously.

There has been a couple of sites however that allowed you to login with your social media profiles, though they seem to be dead now Smiley

Do you think sites should offer the option of login via social media profile as well as the normal username/password?

Even a gambling sites will have a feature like that, I doubt there will be a person who will registered via linking their social media account into that gambling site. In the world of cryptocurrency, we care for our identity so giving away those personal social media account is not a wiser thing to do.

Also I can't seem to understand why those gambling site owners will have a feature like that in the first place. Online gambling is prohibited in some areas since it's not regulated. I will just understand if they are really a registered company and truly recognized as legit gambling site in most of the countries.

For me, I won't bother to login and what is the anonymity that bitcoin promises if I will have to part away with my privacy. Even exchange sites that have asked me for too much details hiding under the KYC stuff, I just pass and look for other sites that we can both have agreement on the amount of details we are sharing for the service I am going to enjoy. For gambling site, I will just pass and take my money elsewhere.

It wouldn't hurt for sites to offer those logins, but I don't think the usage rate would be very high. By linking xDice, you are telling Twitter that you want to gamble with cryptocurrencies. Some people would prefer keeping the fact that they gamble private, or some people live in places where gambling is illegal. Most people don't have a separate Twitter account for their online profile and a real life profile, and I doubt many people want others to know that your name is X, you gamble at X, you have X profit/loss, e.t.c.

I don't think that many people would like to link the social media profile to gambling site. However, this feature can't damage gambling sites themselfs very much. As long as login with your social profile is only additional feature, along with the standart user/password and customers have a choice how to login it can be used.

I would not like to log in to a gambling site with my social network accounts, I would not fell myself protected at all. Now its much easier to register on bitcoin gambling site, many of them do not ask for copy of ID, credit card like its case with fiat casinos. I like this anonymous way of registration, and I always have different usernames and passwords for each site.

I would still do.
I don't really care about anonymity.
Logging in with a social media account would be more convenient and easier since you will only need to press 1 button.

Online gambling is a Gary area where I am, Even so I can't see anyone willing to give up their identity just to log into a gambling site. There shouldn't be any reason to offer it. It wouldn't boost registration as signing up for most site is a very simple and quick process/

Everyone likes to keep gambling private and i am not sure many people would be happy to log in using their personal twitter google or facebook IDS as people are gambling with crypto currency to be anonymous and not to be a public figure .Privacy will be the major concern here and i personally would not like my parents or my employees to know that i would gamble once in a while. Smiley It all depends on choices and i have seen people using their personal social handles to log in to piracy sites Roll Eyes  Cheesy.

What are these couple of sites? The id identification with Facebook could easily rigged off with easy tricks ... like create a new account!
I think it's not convenient for real gaming.

It is a good thought process and people like you really need to have options like these. Wink Online gambling is frown upon by many governments around the globe and even minors are dabbling into sites without much hurdle because of the anonymous nature of bitcoin gambling and i do not think that people would be using their social media accounts .

Everyone so far seems to have given the expected response Smiley

I wouldn't use it either but there are benefits to it.

You don't have to trust sites to store and secure your password. In the event they do not properly secure your passwords a hack or database leak could mean your password is public and can be used to login to other sites where you have used the same password. But you should be using a different one for each site anyway Wink
Using login via Facebook etc means that is not a problem. There is no password to leak.

A site could also set it up in a way where they do not record your name or personal info from the details retrieved from your social media profile. Just your user Id. Though you would be trusting a site not to do this.

A site could aslo setup the login system on a non gambling or bitcoin related domain so that Facebook etc don't know you are logging in to a gamvling site. Sure they could figure out eventually though.

A player could also create fake Facebook account to use for password but then if they are going to go to the hassle of doing that then they probably are the type to use fake email and unique passwords etc.

I was just curious as I was writing an OAuth login system at the moment and wondered if this is a feature to add or not.
As simple as it is to do so it probably is a bad idea and could even put some people off using a site.

I would never login with my Twitter,Google or Facebook Id to any bitcoin gambling site. Bitcoin offers a really good way to gamble anonymously and if you will login with any of the above methods will remove your privacy and everyone will know you. Of course you can join with Facebook when you have "a just made up account for fun" but still I would not do it. A lot of gamblers are turning to bitcoin casinos and sportsbook because of the anonymity it offers.

If you are really spending your time online make sure you are using a different password in each and every site and if that is the case there is not much of a problem even if your passwords are leaked and it is a breach in a gambling site sure you will be losing your coins you are holding their,so it doesnt matter if you are using social media logs or not.

Creating fake social media accounts to log into a gambling site takes a much longer time than logging using the conventional way which is much better.

Why not? when you try with google+ or TW or FB you will be notified about the information that site could have access which in most cases they only can view your contact list read your profile nothing about security though. and since when any of social medias care about their users activity? lol it's internet not dictatorship.

I am not so active at facebook and other similar sites. Recently, I already remove my friends/families that know me in my real life from my friends list at facebook due to the fact that some gambling sites offers giveaways by posting our username at the comment box. I don't want they notice me as a gambler. And if gambling sites require me to login their sites using my facebook account, I will do it. Nothing will hurt me now!

I dont think anyone would be willing to spare his private account details to log in into a gambling site but for fake accounts then that wouldn't be a problem and the reason for that is irrespective of how addicted one might be to gambling we try to seperate our online life from our personal lives and most social accounts are who we really are and even exposure might hurt not only us but people who matter to us...

The option should be available, because if someone doesn't have problem with that it's an easier way to login.
But an alternative way to login should be presented for people who would like to protect their identity and use the site anonymously.
I, myself, won't login to a gambling site using a social account.

Before knowing about Bitcoin, I used to provide my ID in order to access to the casino both online and on the physical world. Now, since Bitcoin is a part of my life, it will be very insane if I connect my social media account to them. I love to be anonymous and Bitcoin can bring it to me. Gambling without ID will help you to avoid a lot of troubles which may exist during the time you play. Therefore, I never login to gambling site with other kinds of account
