...places that haven't participated significantly in the previous waves, like Argentina, Phillipines, Canada, Mexico, Australia, U.K., Carribean, Switzerland ...

Canada? Are you kidding?

Home of Ethereum, first public BTC ATM, rich mining tradition?

Maybe you should add Germany, the USA, Russia and China to the list. LOL

oh yeah, canada this time last year was 2 or 3 guys in the vancouver office at bitcoiniacs ... mega player, my bad.

I left out Singapore and Hong Kong, they look ready to play this time around too.

sorry, no "country" has yet participated significantly to the bitcoin price.

whenever i ask around in germany, i get the same answer: "well, i read about bitcoin in the online-news magazines. it is this computer nerd / hacker stuff, right?"

persons i asked can all be accounted as tech savvy, usually ph.d. students with high affinity to new, fancy technology.

none of them has ever thought of buying bitcoin, yet. adoption rate in my circles should be around 0.1%. left alone the group of more "average joes".

lets talk about significant contribution when a country reaches 1% adoption... but this is still far beyond the horizon

well it is gonna be slow...no banker or teller I've talked to in the last 1 1/2 years has heard of bitcoin

i tell anyone about bitcoin and they say 'yeah that is used to do drug deals o the Internet right?' and/or yeah a ponzi scam

right now I've told 31 folks only 2 my brothers (one is edward jones other has a big biz) actually figured it COULD work back last year

everyone else from plumber asking about the machines in my bsmt to whomever.....mostly say it is a drug deal wire xfer method

midwest USA is gonna be the LAST place on earth bitcoin catches on....(no fear of the us dollar collapsing here 3.1% unemployment in my area)

I'm so lonely!!!!!

to add insult to injury the only time I helped anyone with bitcoin related was a scam where their computers locked up and they had like to pay
1.3btc in 72hrs or some such....two places in town got hit...one had backup so ignored it the other all network was locked up multi million $$$ biz

so i sold them some BTC they paid...did no good....checked the address out.....like 34,000 btc in the account we thought was the scam

anyway just taking the cash..not releasing the codes to unlock at all

so likely it is now worse that info is ALL over town now

it is gonna be another few years at best imho for grudging acceptance

Canada's CaVirtex is also one of, if not the oldest/longest standing exchange.  Canada also hosts two other exchanges.  How many are hosted in America these days?

LOL! I should have trolled about Litecoin's inevitable damnation here instead of doing so in the DarkCoin thread, I see.
Nah, it wouldn't have made any difference, right?

Apparently Adam's absence is to thank for this bullishness.
