Well this is boring.  Go watch the XMR chart instead.  Up 30% today  Tongue

some days one altcoin rises a lot, but every day we see lots of alts going nowhere but down.

It is like gambling.

I could instead watch the guy that managed to win 1M from few dollars by winning a giant parlay

XMR is not a gamble: It's got the only viable tech for dark liquidity, and leads the market in software, liquidity, and social capital.  XMR is not an "alt":  It is an innovation on par with BTC in its sophistication and in its economic importance.

Monero is junk.
Stop listening to Risto and the others, they don't know what the hell they are talking about anymore.

Does "the others" include the core devs who are in contact with the xmr-devteam about the underlying technology? Tongue

you can call bs, but I get similar numbers - about 100~120 $ for 1 btc.

hardware cost excluded, but most hardware is working for months already. hell, i got bitfury gear which is more than 1 year old and still mining with profit.

Ok Genius....how long for return on investment if I buy one of these?

https://bitmaintech.com/productDetail.htm?pid=00020140926075515819D846Og240603

heh just saying this group buy of 2 sp20's for $1000 usd or 3.4TH includes shipping that ends in 4 days ..still don't cut it and it beats the above
all to heck..this includes shipping and is "in stock" not a pre-order either....fyi

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=903286.0

so if you can't get this puppy to fly at 1100 watts each unit I think it is...well it is all dorked home miner wise .....even the above sp20 GB deal is not do'able imho
vs buying BTC at this point in time

(not a slam just pointing out the above is a good deal till you run the numbers at this BTC price)

anyway my 2c (what do I know however got a KNC Titan)

Mining has not been ever as profitable as in the last six weeks or so. The diff has became flat and even went down.I am sure in the near future it will be going up and down as the whole mining industry has achieved a point of balance so depending on the price movements some mining operations are mining and selling at the same time as their margins are so narrow.

The future is in hosted mining as same cuts the time for delivery, eliminates duty tax and offers lower maintenance fees.

...and that's why miners are shutting down their gear (the only possible explanation for dropping hashrate).

Good morning, rocket scientists!

I meant long term. You are getting your mined BTC at steady rate. It is amazing!

No,  You're getting your BTC @the pool luck rate, which is probabilistically linked to difficulty.  The same difficulty which is dropping now, and which skyrockets as soon as mining becomes profitable.  To make it unprofitable again Cheesy

Ok, thanks for confirming my valid BTC dump.
I feel much better now.

Let's sit back and watch the price drop.

Looks like I was pretty spot on.

There is another big dump incoming. Could take another 3 days though.
Price is not going much higher than this.
Sell all you have, thank me later.

No.

At these price levels selling to buy back lower is unlikely to yield significant profits unless the price collapses below all support. So you are betting on disaster at the bottom of a trading range. It is more likely the price trades up towards 400 and you buy back in at a loss.
