There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

That was a quick $5 drop ... Was that due to the last 5 posts here? rpietila panicked Did sound to me a lot like his posting was an attempt to prop up the market with words more than money Well he's in good company. But we now know that he bought at least 13 bitcoins.

I am very bullish on the next week. It is possible that $200 will be breached. Every time bitcoin starts to rise in a serious way, the supply side just dries up, leading to an overextension and then retracement. Monday can easily see $160 but I don't think the post-crash high will be taken until Tuesday.
I have also bullish outlook but a bit different: Wednesday will be the strongest day like last week. The low-volume calm period has been very long now and this usually means strong moves. I'm pretty sure they'll point upwards. Not quite as bullish as rpietila, though. 0.14 on monday is possible, maybe tuesday. 0.16 on wednesday possible. 0.20? probably not this week. So I've been carefully going long(er) this weekend, buying the dips. As long as $0.12 isn't breached I consider lower price like now a buying opportunity.

That was a quick $5 drop ... Was that due to the last 5 posts here? rpietila panicked maybe he's finalizing a large deal and mtgoxUSD is basis, so he's pushing it down to get a better price. (or someone else for that matter)

That was a quick $5 drop ... Was that due to the last 5 posts here? If we get $5 drop because of a few posts then people don't believe that BTC is backed by anything. But are nothing else than a way to earn quick cash... and loosing them twice as fast! Buckle up boys and girls, check your gear and strap your helmets on

Monday can easily see $160 but I don't think the post-crash high will be taken until Tuesday. If anyone has coins to sell directly for bank wire, I am happy to buy them at current rate - 3% as my margin. Or I can buy goxmoney (seller buys coins, sends them to me, I bank wire). PM soon, it's late here Or I can write puts for $120! Best of both worlds for you who don't want to sell and don't want to risk the downside! So am I. The release of BITCOINATM will be a media whore for at least a week. Bullish in my view.

why are you quoting prices in mBTC ? For the same reason we normally deal with gold in ounces or grams instead of kilos.

For the same reason we normally deal with gold in ounces or grams instead of kilos. what are you talking about? no exchange prices gold in kilos. everywhere prices in ounces. and every exchange prices bitcoins in 1 BTC if you want to start a movement to quote merchant prices in mBTC, then obviously that is a good idea as the markets continue to move up. but it makes no sense to quote the exchange rate in anything other than its actual rate
