Well, that's true if you want CASH from your bank - but when you are moving "electronic" money from one account/bank to another you don't need more than 2/3 business days, many times with 1 day is enough, and its very unlikely your money will never go through. With Gox you may have to wait for almost a month with your withdrawal on "processing", and the fear the money will never come out because of hack, shut down by law enforcement, scam, whatever, is high.

What we need is an electronic based currency that's easy to move around and doesn't rely on overly regulated and bureaucratic infrastructure.

Oh wait...

Paypal and bitcoin would be huge, huge news... anyway, even this hint should do good for price in short-term. Looks like today is time to ride it Smiley

Last few weeks litecoin acts as bitcoin proxy - bitcoin up, litecoin up and vice versa

It's a much more bullish development than not acknowledging the significance of bitcoins at all, or not even acknowledging their existence, which is what you typically would've expected CEO's of huge companies to do a year ago.

That doesn't matter. They probably will never implement anything bitcoin for all we know. But the fact that he mentioned that they are eyeing bitcoin, true or not, will spark some confidence into bitcoin and boost credibility.

Paypal CEO mentioning bitcoin == positive bitcoin publicity.

The guy knew specific facts of a topic that even the interviewer said was out of left field. C-level execs at Paypal, the biggest online payment processor, have clearly discussed Bitcoin. That, in and of itself, is massive news. Bitcoin is being recognized and described as 'fascinating', that alone will get converts.

Of course, you can be the biggest bear in the world but should take some profit that interview can produce for you.

OTOH, if you believe in Bitcoin, Paypal will either have to take it on eventually or be eclipsed by someone who does. In this case, this is a very good sign.

I just said that the news weren't as huge as some people said they were. If they said that they pretended to integrate bitcoin by next months/year. That would have been HUGE news. Just a CEO saying they are interesting, no, not huge.
If I believe or not doesn't matter. What matters is if bitcoin suceeds or not. If It does, of course, Paypal will have to take them.. but I'm not man of faith, and even if I have trust in cryptocurrencies, I wouldn't put my hand in the fire for bitcoin.

If they said they will implement bitcoin in next few months you'd be watching bitcoin's price at 500$ at this moment. And thousands in week or two.

Where we stand at, it's huge news to hear Paypal, WesternUnion etc talking any kind of positive talk about bitcoin. That produces positive stuff in average Joe head, and when enough of average Joes have that view you won't wait long to see Paypal and similar companies giving some deadlines about bitcoin.

If I believe or not doesn't matter.

It does when we're discussing whether things like this are important or not. Your opinions are colored by your beliefs. You're saying that you don't think it's big news (and you're entitled to your opinions), I'm just explaining why, for some of us, it is.

I got crushed today, $10,000s underwater. I don't think it is fun, and don't recommend shorting bitcoin.

Buy and hold.
