No walls are holding price down atm. Buyers are just waiting and sellers holding. Indicators spiking up without significant price increases to show. Last time we dipped, we had this lull above ATH, now its below.

I am all cash now.

I too am starting to suspect the rally is getting tired now, maybe 60/40 chance we don't break new highs this week, with possible sell-off. But when you say "all cash" I hope you don't mean that literally...

This trend is soooo bearish. Oh God what if it hits the orange line or blue line again and I miss the chance to make a few extra btc. I better sell everything now.  Roll Eyes

Wasn't that in this thread?

If that deserved to get deleted my entire post history is about to disappear.

It seems Bitstamp is the "bottom" and Gox is the "top". The last settlement (as in, the last time the price came close to settling, given how volatile this market is), it was when Bitstamp and Gox prices came to the closest I've seen them since I started following the market a few months ago.

Experienced, wise speculators, does this make sense or am I talking out my ass?

Indeed. That should go into the first book of Bitcoin poetry.

I'm not convinced that mBTC is a good idea. Seems like some people just want to fool the market and noobs into thinking that bitcoins are cheaper than they are. One thing about Bitcoin is that it is the first 100% honest money. If it costs $1100 for each coin, then so be it!

I think it's an effect, not a cause. Arbitrage gaps close when volatility decreases.

Stamp appears to be on the move.

Do you feel that using grams as a unit of exchange for gold is a bad idea?

Some people don't understand that a bitcoin is divisible (I think everyone understands it's possible to buy less than a TOz). This solves that problem. I don't think it's fooling or defrauding anyone.

It's not entirely their fault for thinking that, either. BitCOIN does make it sound like an indivisible whole.

I am strongly in favor of the change. There's always the option to switch back - if you like it like that, the change isn't aimed at you anyway.

Yeah, he said all along he would do that at $1000.  I am glad he did. Someone needed to lead the charge. To AT LEAST find out if it will hold or not. I don't really care either way, but I do think we should let the market decide. It will take a little getting used to, but we need to see if its the right move and quit arguing about it theoretically.

but if BTC is to become legitimate, it has to cater to the lowest common denominator. people are irrational.

I think it's evolution, not just for the noobs. Unless you look at it as commodity, not money. When my friends ask me how much have I paid for something in BTC, answering something like 0.055 sounds geeky, but that doesn't serve a purpose.

i just checked out a recent post by newegg on facebook.. they asked a simple question: "what would you like newegg to bring for your techmas this year?"

the comments section was being bombarded with "bitcoin bitcoin." we are 1 by 1 putting the pressure on them to start accepting. see here: https://www.facebook.com/Newegg/posts/10152063129624168

I think its fine for websites and shops to use mBTC. But the exchanges are a different story. Google shares are $1050, Platinum oz is $1350, Berkshire Hathaway shares are $172k. Let's see Bitcoin pass this sucker: http://finance.yahoo.com/q?d=t&s=BRK-A
