Lots of money and little activity!!! Everyone is waiting for cheap coins and/or weak hands!!!

Can anyone guess what will happen?

No, buy I bought back in earlier today at 940 because the trend seemed to indicate UP, that turned out to be a local top (no surprise there).
As long as I hold and don't sell at a loss, the prices will go down.
See you at 200, guys.  Grin

I am waiting for the day you will come here and post saying your play money has gone to 0 Grin

Thank you for the vote of confidence.
In the meantime, be sure to do the exact opposite of what I do, and if it helps you give me a small tip. That should help me remain in business of making crappy trades for a little longer.  Tongue

PS: I cancelled my sell order at 947. Waiting for the price to rally.

man this slow-motion crash (up or down) is tense.

maybe it is called "dead cat bounce" because dead cats are indeed kinda slow...

edit: next time it hits 900 i buy back with what i have left.

That money is probably there in anticipation of a new visit down towards 600. China news hasn't been completely digested yet and we will have more volatility before stable 900+.

I think after dozens of copycat news saying China caused Bitcoin drop, people are now starting to understand news from China wasn't negative after all.

Long term: not necessarily negative. Short term: most definitely negative. We are still in short term, wouldn't you agree?

It's been over 5 days since the news. I think we've moved past it at this point.

Yes, 'we', as in, in here, IRC, tradingview etc. But there will still be a large amount of our newly adopted masses who are led by Forbes articles which the news will be peculating down to.

I think we forget how current 'we' can be sometimes in this thread, almost thinking that all news is priced in within the hour  Cheesy

0 confirmation transactions work fine!   The risk of a double spend is extremely low for low value transactions.   For high value ones, 6 confirms is vastly faster than a wire transfer, or ACH, or SEPA.

Getting tired of noobs thinking they know anything . . .

the noobs are numerous

we must be patient and teach them how things work in bitcoin land.

been mining since May 2011. not sure that would be considered a noob.

Yes bitcoin is way too slow for everyday transactions. But some people didn't notice because they don't use it, they stick it in a paper wallet under their bed and that's it.
I've thought this too, and then I thought what tHash thought. Will people really go through the hassle of trying to double-spend transactions worth a couple of dollars, or even hundreds? I have no idea how feasible that is; I assume none of the standard clients will allow it. (My own service works on 0 confirmations, but will revert the subscription if it doesn't get the confirmations. Should be a viable route for many services, I guess – but of course not all.)

I know this is off topic, but there's not much on-topic to say at the moment, is there? Except perhaps… do you think any of the people who sold at 1000–1200 have cashed out any considerable portion? Or is pretty much all the money still in the exchanges? I'm assuming the latter, in which case things could go really fast after 1000 is broken, right?

Funny thing is that most people who can't wait for the break-out to 1000 will be the first to unload at that price.
I have a bad feeling about what will happen in the week before Christmas and the week after.
Wouldn't advise anyone to trade then.

For online shopping and things like that, the speed is allright. But for direct purchases in "real life" way too slow. I have had 3 double spend so far.

POS should use a payment processor.
