Put down that crack pipe and step back slowly.
Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

Even gold is malleable. It's a feature. Cheesy

Nope. Gold is ductile, not malleable.

Slow there, you are comparing it to an ultra-hyper-inflationary currency. Better use one that is just inflationary:

Nope. Gold is ductile, not malleable.
Nit picking: It is both, actually.  Malleable means it can be hammered to a very thin sheet, ductile means it can be pulled through dies to make very fine wires.

Can you link to some technical information explaining how Dogecoin is unaffected by transaction malleability?

errr ?  : ) I am tempted to answer a random question here...  but anyway..

ok what ever you say : )   not sure why you directed that at me, nothing to do with my post, and you are preaching to the converted....I am not afraid in the slightest.....I have stated my opinion regularly on this thread.. I come on here mainly for fun, and for some newses.. but I am a long term hodler and dip buyer...  I am not confused... and I have teflon skin when it comes to FUD, and I am not a very jumpy person.

my general attitude remains

Your post deserved an explanation that there is no great conspiracy, there are just illusions that are breaking.
Good luck to you.

So it is "breaking illusions" that are attacking the exchanges?

Reality is attacking the exchanges would be a more suitable phrase.

yeah... ok... you are talking about somthing else, which was my point about random answers to a question...

I am asking about who or what is attacking the exchanges with the attacks that are happening at the moment... the actual attacks, on the actual exchanges............ the actual attacks...... on the actual exchanges...  that we are...... having ... at .... the ... moment... so yeah there is obviously someone doing it... it is not just "reality" ffs... I am talking reality here not conspiracy theories.. I think you are confused... and yeah the price is going to do what prices do, shocker..  seems to me you just wantd to offload a load of fud, well happy days for you. I will be interested in the FUD in about 2017 when I actually give a hoot.

Ok cool... hope that has sorted that one.

Indeed you are right. Even more, ductile implies malleable, i.e. it needs to be malleable first before being able to be ductile.

Can someone explain why people set huge walls to keep the price from going up? If you have that many bitcoins then surely you want the price as high as possible?

Wow, I have been following this thread for a while now, I think I am going to stop. Seriously, for every one legitimate remark, there are hundreds others that do nothing but obfuscate reality and regurgitate media frenzy.

This thread now resembles the cesspools that are the Baby-Pips or ForexFactory forums in the way disinformation is spread based of half-truths and delivered with so much emotional baggage, you'd think the authors are packing for a trip to Mars (or the Moon right?).

Anyways, I digress - enjoy the feces flinging, if you are into that kind of thing.

Actually wouldn't be a bad move by Gox if they did bribe Stamp to "hold withdrawals", and then "fixing it" simultaneously, it would negate the chunk of damage that was done to Gox's reputation, and they could possibly keep some % of customers after all.

Funny how everyone attacked Mt. Gox for taking a stab at Bitcoin. Now because of the DDOS, one exchange after the other is halting withdrawals.

Employ liberal use of the ignore button and watch the forum turn to italics during bad news. It's an easy way to call the bottoms.
