How is this good news? I think most people forgot what bitcoin is all about a long time ago. Satoshi wouldn't be proud.
For a long time to come people will still need to convert money back and forth. They deserve the ability to do it without being raped by incompetent children or crooks. I would call that good news. I'm glad libertardians have finally accepted the motherly embrace of teh nanny-state & necessity of her regulations. Make up your mind, please. Is it bad for the price, or is it just running counter to the principles of Our Blessed CryptoChurch, founded by our Messiah, Satoshi "Liberty & Sound Money" Nakamoto? Because the way I see it, it's probably only going to be one of the two ^_^

Okcoin futures lagging behind Not many shits given about Coinbase doing anything further with BTC. They are all about tracking and other odds n ends that I don't support. (Proud Libtard here ) Well it does open the doors to a lot of people in the US that don't feel comfortable wiring fiat to bitstamp or btce. Never less it's bullish and good to be long i bet we are going to see more transactions and eventually this will take us UP guys

I don't know, they seemed a bit loose at first, but then I padded the space with a few layers of surplus cash I found in my investment account and now they feel just fine. Seriously though: crypto is brilliant, in my opinion. Has the chance to bring mankind and finance several steps forward. Potentially changes the world for the better. That said, "sound money must replace dirty fiat" and "destroy the state by removing its financial power base" never were any of the big reasons I got excited about crypto. So why would I care if I have cash or coins sitting on a regulated exchange? I'd love to do so.

Seriously, this needs to be fixed asap.

can anyone think as to what advantages bitstamp and bitfinex will have if fully insured and regulated exchanges open?
Is it that they will have less regulation so to speak and this itself will be an advantage?

Well Stamp is likely to slip further into a coma but Bitfinex will be fine, regulated exchanges wont offer margin. However with the exchange supposedly being insured general buying and selling is likely to move to more regulated avenues.

For me, none. On the contrary. I think it's about time for every exchange to be regulated or at least post every transaction to the ledger. Transparency is the key. No more Gox-phenomena with Willy bots will occur this way.

make you a deal, expand as a summation series and give me a closed form expression for the 3rd term (coefficient for x^3) and I'll reveal all ...
1+(x/3π)?

so, to the moon is actually a call to move to the new regulated exchange.
thank god most of the coins are in children's hands on unregulated exchanges.
regulated exchanges are not so profitable.

No more Gox-phenomena with Willy bots will occur this way. I ve though and said this for a long time that some form of regulation is needed. Like some form of gov is needed... to keep things civil and such. I also think that once the regulation does kick in a bit, the big money is gonna start flooding in ... this is what will give the money the green light.

So it will probably stay around for a long time
