$46 spread between BTC-e and Huobi  Shocked

Can someone explain this?
It's really hard to get fiat into BTC-e apparently.

I don't know.. the spread wasn't even this large in Nov 2013

Down to $25 spread now  Smiley

Hey Tamari, go long (;

I really am worried for Tamari... does any one know if he has jumped off a cliff yet or something of the sort? I really hope not, but with all the financial loss he's acquired, I wouldn't doubt it at all.

It's so tempting. Taking a nice profit now would be the rational thing to do. But we may be dealing with something irrational.

Yes, we may

Shorts still at 18k? Color me impressed.Say what you want about bears, but they're either really dumb or have balls of steel.
Edit: Really expensive attempt at stop hunting on BFX.  Cheesy

those 18k are definitely not holding since 250
Well, they didn't open them at $395 either. The vast majority of the new shorts (7k) were opened on the 29th of october at $315 and currently only 3k of them closed.I REALLY think we will burn through them before we go down, so hang on to your seat belts.

wow! where do you find such detailed info?

Wow...my quick calculations are that bitcoin has gone from 302 to 394, roughly a 30% rise, in the last 62 hours.

you had to calculate that?

Yeah, in my head.  It probably took less time than it did for you to type your question.

Down to $25 spread now  Smiley

I apologize for being anal retentive, but I keep hearing people use the term "spread" to refer to the price "premium" between exchanges. I thought that traders used the term "spread" to refer to the buy and sell price difference within the same exchange and the price difference between exchanges as the "premium"... thus the price premium of Chinese exchanges is 25 dollars higher than US exchanges.

...or is there something I am missing?

He may not have the money to travel to a cliff anymore.

You really think that any serious trader would have more than an irrelevant fraction of his portfolio in a penny stock like BTC?
Pretty sure he's doing fine.
You, OTOH...

lol, "bitcoin" "penny stock"... keep trying to tell yourself that, and justifying what the bears have lost already... I'm not really trying to rub it in any ones face, I truly feel bad for them. And I'm pretty positive Tarmi isn't some multi billion dollar CEO that can afford to lose 100's of thousands of dollars at whim.

Spread is the price between two things - it can be applied to many things,   eg treasuries vs corporate bond is the Spread to Treasuries, spread between Live Pigs and Pork Bellies is "The Dead Spread",
Premium is the price above market or additional cost one has to pay, eg new issue premium is the extra amount an issuer pays above existing stock to issue more.
Both could probably be used , the Spread between Houbi and Stamp is X, The Houbi premium is Y or the BTCE discount is Z
