Anyway, now that all cards are turned on the table we have a problem here. How to convince Jihan BU to lose that advantage in favor of Segwit.
convince him? Cut him off, change the pow so something like this NEVER happens again. If his machines stop working, so be it. I wouldn't mind losing all of mine providing that we have a path forward. Besides, btc would be 2-3 times higher if not for that guy. So what you are saying, massive upside eventually. Sounds like an argument to buy.

FINALLY segwit will burn and we will have BIGGER BLOCKS
No worries, Jihan can just fork over to a wonderful, closed-source, buggy-as-hell, unlimited blocksize, fully exploitable (er "optimization-able") blockchain called BU-whatever, and mine it exclusively until his heart's content. Only problem is, the "economic majority" won't be following. Sorry. my dream has been realized.

Yup. I was wrong. SegWit has cut a deal with BU. We are going to fork. RIP.
everyone hates Segwit2mb yet there's what, 30% signaling for it? or am i mistaken? I assumed what york meant when he said SegWit has cut a deal with BU was the Segwit SF + 2MB HF (Segwit2MB) being proposed. this will produce a Effective 8MB block weight. everyone hates it. 20MB everyone hates it. 8MB everyone hates it. BIP101 everyone hates it. 2MB HF everyone hates it. Segwit everyone hates it. BU everyone hates it. UASF everyone hates it. Segwit2MB everyone hates it. I don't know why people hate things like . This shouldn't be a do or die situation and the issue about the block size shouldn't generate something a war I think. What we need is to understand each other if the Chinese miners love the BU so be it. Let's work together to make bitcoin great that's what matter most. We should all be happy cause the price per bitcoin is now $1150. Hopefully it will reach $1200 before the end of this week

But nooooo maybe its because my name is Killerpotleaf, and they are racist!

seeing how a UASF is becoming more of a real posisblty
and ill be hodling this shit i better get use to talking the talk
we take core's rightful place as bitcoin's overseer to be self evident, and would ask it exercises it mighty power to vanquish those who would oppose us.
am i doing it right?

LOL You seem to be not getting the full picture here. He has been found cheating and allegedly breaking some patents at that. In addition, he exposed himself opposing positive technology change for secret reasons that are not aligned with community interest. ^lol looks like they found a more efficient way to mine blocks! ~ what stops anyone else from reverse engineering those chips? haha :-D obsolutely nothing! ..ohh what their patent? ya sure...bwaaa

you re still not getting it fully... Allegedly, they sold miners (like S9) to Joe Public with a feature under discussion turned OFF, but they turned it ON for themselves. At least this is one of the suppositions, and a proof of the pudding is in the fact that they produce abnormally high number of empty blocks, which is predicted to happen if they activate the feature.

Did they do something illegal? is eating excrement illegal?? does the legal status make it more, or less acceptable? Moral outrage won't get anything done. That's female thinking. If they did something illegal then let's focus on that and leave the philosophical ponderings at the door. And if not, then the only recourse is to outvote them with hardware and electricity.

I don't really care which upgrade goes through as long as it goes smoothly (though I would really like to see Lightning Network go through) but seeing Litecoin double in price due to the likelihood of Segwit going through makes me want to see the same thing happen to bitcoin's price.
Make it so.

Are you referring to any recent news in particular, or just communicating a pure wish? hahahahaha Haha. 'Past Performance Is No Guarantee of Future Results' and 'high volatility' is very applicable to adam's posts. IOW, a real bitcoiner. I'm not sure if I understand your post or your position about this whole question regarding the short to medium prognosis for bitcoin? I personally believe that in the end, some variation of the core's vision is going to prevail, and surely I hope that it includes some kind of incorporation of segwit - but even if seg wit does not get incorporated in the coming years, bitcoin still is in a decent place in terms of storage of value and security and various kinds of ways to control your own wealth from capital controls and even some kinds of abilities to do quasi-anonymous transactions in a pretty secure way.
