This kind of pump you only see with alt coins... which usually flame out and then slide back down. Maybe it will be different with BCH, but I doubt it.

Kind of pissed.  I feel like I can't really take advantage of these price swings because if I sell from Coinbase stash, I won't get any BCH come 1/1/18.

If I move over some of my BTC from Blockchain over to Coinbase, I lose BCH from moving them out of Blockchain.

I'm too lazy and don't want to do all the research to sweep my BCH out of Blockchain.

So I feel like all I can do is hodl (which is not a bad thing), but I would like to take advantage of this current price instability.

Lol what a pickle to be in. Just hope come 1/1/18 BCH will be at least where it is now, who knows maybe more!  Grin

Of course there may be many waiting until then also, and suddenly many BCH will flood the market?

Meanwhile, take a look at the total amount of bids on Bitstamp:
Quote
Bitstamp | Total bids: 39490400 USD. Total asks: 3824 BTC. Ratio: 10324.70656 USD/BTC. | Data vintage: 0.0150 seconds
This is by far higher than we've ever seen. If this isn't clear and shady market manipulation, then I don't know what is. It may be time to drop some lawsuits.

The fork happened 1st August. Having to wait a couple of weeks like poloniex I can understand, 5 months like coinbase is crazy. But if you must let your coins all that time on the site to get coins that were created on the 1st August, that's insane. Are you sure it's how it works ?

I'm never going to use Coinbase, ever, that's for sure.

I was wondering, maybe one of you knows, how come the prices on various exchanges are so close most of the time ? Are there whales arbing like crazy ?

Coins that you hold on an exchange are not yours, they are IOUs. The exchange is not obliged to play these fork games with Ver and Jihan.

They obviously are. Whenever an exchange is far ahead or far behind with the price, it's often a sign of a lack of arbitrage (i.e. something is making arbitrage hard).

I agree on a philosophical point, but many exchange users use them as wallets. And Coinbase in fact encourages this.

Should we create a new poll like: "when will the BCC orchestrated pump finish when ver, wu, and their partners dump all their coins, and then create a giant dip?"

a) at 0.25 btc/bcc
b) at 0.30 btc/bcc
c) at 0.5 btc/bcc
d) at 0.7 btc/ bcc
