Hope to reach 7.5k, however 5k would be great, but at the same time worrying.
If 5k support zone is breached, well...
Also, 270k unconfirmed transactions atm. If this increase even more, start seeing people panic because they can't get their bitcoins back. And you now what happen then, fud starts, greater unconfirmed transactions stocking and fees going to the moon.
$5k would make me feel very warm and fuzzy. Of course, however remember that at 5k, btc could lose or see diminished by a lot cryptos’ share dominance, and stop to be used as indexing to the now called "alt coins" (of course I understand that with btc depreciation, we will witness the same behavior on the remain coins). If that happen, we could see the probable shift that we will witness in the short, mid or long future, coz, apart from bitcoin being the first cryptocurrency, it’s, at its fundamentals, completely surpassed by a lot of other currencies atm. The consensus on bitcoin's storage of value aspect that’s holding bitcoin appreciation is greatly dependent on the fact of its dominance on market share. If this equilibrium is seriously contested, you can see a change on the paradigm, that’s why I’m saying that 5k price can be risky. However, I do believe that a healthy crash is obviously needed to bitcoin and to all crypto market, for the sake of its on existence.

So the USD value of most cryptos should drop significantly, unless everything started flowing from Bitcoin into other coins while simultaneously seeing BTC/USD dumps. I don't really see Bitcoin dumping (what we're seeing now is still very far from a dump) without altcoins suffering proportionally. But yes, it would be nice if fees and speed were addressed soon.

Guys, please don't.
We can occasionally talk about alts, but we have a long standing disgust and disdain for XRP (aka CentralizedPreminedBankerCoin) here that goes back years and years. IMO out of all the shitcoins, Ripple might be the worst. And it just won't die.
Noted! I think almost all of us here are > 80% BTC vs. < 20% alts anyway. So alts rising (or falling) has only fun/news significance (for me at least). Now let's get back to BTC... Personally I don't worry too much (yet) about the drop. It was long overdue and it's a breather for the beast. Looking forward to the next upward surge, which I sense will come VERY soon, it will be BIG, and it will be the new FLOOR for next year's rally to conquer 6-digit-land! Its been a good day for me - managed to increase my BTC holding substantially by selling so many alts - great trading conditions I have some capital sitting on Kraken because I'm waiting for verification and it would be a great time to buy more BTC but... Kraken sucks!!!! Let's be fair. They are slow, like bread turning into toast, but they don't outright steal from people and they don't fuck around with arbitrary withdrawal limits. I am being fair and there is nothing like toast being made at Kraken. This is more like making fossils.

50 LTC is getting very close to buying a whole BTC now. Hmmm.
Back in late 2013 when Litecoin was skyrocketing from $2 to $48, there was a time when the Litecoin clan was convinced that LTC would soon find it's rightful STABLE place at 1/4 of btc price. Absolutely convinced. It eventually fell all the way back to $1.30. Let that sink in for a min.

That Lee guy seems quite honest in admitting BTC will always be the store of value and perhaps LTC can be the test network or quick small payment means. Perhaps. I'd rather see LTC succeed than BCash obviously. But there wouldn't be any reason for LTC to ever hit 1/4 BTC I reckon if BTC IS the main store of value (which it currently is) other than wishful thinking.

Good morning Bitcoinland.
I see we dipped back down to where we were yesterday... currently $15730USD/$20023CAD (Bitcoinaverage).
AltCash and AltGold are also down so old coins are only worth $19253USD/$24544CAD (Coinmarketcap).
Was this a double bottom? $15k seems to be holding nicely.
Unless buy fees at my nearest ATM come down, I'm still not buying. The dip's not deep enough yet.
Yawn.

What, 15,300? Yawn.... Wake me when it hits 10k.
Masterluc said we should test $10.000 in order to go to $100.000 by summer'18. So... wake me up when we hit 100K I am aware of the masterluc prediction, test $10k in order to go to $100k, but I have not seen a timeframe of that prediction. Could you show me the source of such a forecast?
