Bitcoin is physical

Yes but it does give bitcoin a physical presence out there in the real world.

Why does a non physical currency need a physical presence?

Might as well ask: Why does love need sex?
(People are physical.)

"Information in physical" - Rolf Landauer, IBM (1991)

Quote
Information is inevitably tied to a physical representation. It can be engraved on stone tablets, denoted by a spin up or down, a charge present or absent, a hole punched in a card, or many other alternative physical phenomena. It is not just an abstract entity; it does not exist except through a physical embodiment. It is, therefore, tied to the laws of physics and the parts available to us in our real physical universe.

bitcoin in the really "high quality" sensationalist newspaper media in belgium:

The triangle i posted earlier did break upwards. I think this suggest that we're heading up for now.

Nearly hitting the same highs as post silk road shutdown yesterday. Hold on.

Agreed. Market behavior and investor interest this month at >$200 is far different from April. The price is consolidating and building for the next leg. Might be a $300 Christmas present for all Bitcoiners coming along this year!

Trashiest newspaper in Belgium, I don't think the people who read that newspaper would consider investing in something like bitcoin, if it isn't marketed by banks as a high return low risk easy investment.

Why does a non physical currency need a physical presence? Seems like more astroturfing for Bitcoin to me, it certainly isn't serving any serious market demand.

It lowers the barrier for the common folk to make a btc investment. Right now you have to wire money to an exchange, which is kind of a hassle for folks who are not familiar with that kind of stuff. Plus random people who don't know about bitcoin will enquire as to what it does. Thus leading people to make a btc investment. I only see positives from this. It probably won't be profitable for the manufacturers though.

wtf are you people wait for? Xmas!?, fuck this I'm emptying my bank account tonight.

I almost did this back in 2011 when I was drunk. Why, oh why, didn't I.

For highly analytical people like me, we make some of the best decisions when drunk.

Do you have an explanation for this?

Yeah, it stops second-guessing, lets you go with your gut, keeps you from getting bogged down in the details and missing the forest for the trees. It's a corrective for over-analysis, so it only works if you're actually prone to over-analysis. (The right amount of alcohol. Too much is eventually worse, of course.)

I noticed this too.

+1111111111 couldn't agree more.

Also....bid depth looking healthy!

So, now we know why bitcoin rates move all over the place: you're all drunk when trading!

It sounds like someone that says you should be a little drunk when you drive so your driving is more relaxed.

The decision to get drunk can be made whilst sober.....as with any drug. If you are aware of the benefits of the drug, then you are a very clever manipulator of your own consciousness.

BTCChina is catching up with Gox. Lots of consistent buys on Bitstamp (wire transfers trickling in? a whale buying slowly?).
