Its good for both...it gives BTC a little cooling off period. We've rushed through some amazing gains in BTC-land...and taking the focus off, even for just a bit, is good...it lets the price settle in and folks get comfortable with the idea of $1000/BTC. BTC has no real challengers other than perhaps LTC....for the sake of full disclosure I hold a few 100 LTC...but even I think that the current price is just pure BS driven by speculation. I think LTCs real value is much lower, not being bearish but rather more realistic about it. LTC doesn't have a major payment processor like Coinbase to make Fiat <--> LTC easy, it has only 1 major exchange BTCE but it's sketchy at best from the rumors I've heard, LTC doesn't have a bunch of merchants lined up ready to take LTC payments for goods/services....so while I think LTC has some long term potential, I think it still has a way to go before this $35-$40/LTC price is genuinely accurate.

Probably.
But LTE is in serious danger of over-correcting on the downside if there is a bitcoin correction. I agree that the price seems slightly ahead of itself right now.

This is an arena where BTC has the potential to just eat the big banks' lunch for real.
Banks again. I just read the wiki on M-Pesa and the references to banks were everywhere. So, I suppose, what btc needs is a clearinghouse. Noted that IBM was/is involved in the 'Development and second line support' details of M-Pesa. Shouldn't be too long before we hear something from that powerhouse inre bitcoin. /Frank Bitcoin mining is the clearing house for transactions.

LTC will be soon be in an epic MF bubble. When all the smart lads get their money, they'll rush to their first love: Bitcoin.
I do not expect a LTC crash to be followed by a BTC crash.

Any innovation gets improved upon and the 1st rarely makes it. Also in china even 2nd and 3rd tier is larger then anything in the rest of the world. Current crypto adoption is driven by individuals and there are lots of individuals in china.

It needs $200 more to catch up with btc. i know this is the BTC forum but really think about it... this rally is from where? china... now if you were a Chinese guy who wanted to use crypto would you pick the one that is 4 times slower and uses the non open source encrpytion set up by the NSA or the open source scrypt? hmm.... pretty sure i know what the chinese are going to be using. will be lol with one ltc is worth as much as a btc But seriously is LTC more user-friendly than BTC? Because I bought bitcoin for the long-term thinking there is a decent chance it goes mainstream and increase in value.. And I really didnt think there was any other crypto-currency who could compete with it.. LTC maybe a little bit but I wasnt even concerned.. But now that it is raising in value and I hear people saying its more user-friendly I am a little worried lol.
