It needs $200 more to catch up with btc.

i know this is the BTC forum but really think about it... this rally is from where? china...

now if you were a Chinese guy who wanted to use crypto would you pick the one that is 4 times slower and uses the non open source encrpytion set up by the NSA or the open source scrypt?

hmm....

pretty sure i know what the chinese are going to be using.

will be lol with one ltc is worth as much as a btc  Grin Grin

But seriously is LTC more user-friendly than BTC? Because I bought bitcoin for the long-term thinking there is a decent chance it goes mainstream and increase in value.. And I really didnt think there was any other crypto-currency who could compete with it.. LTC maybe a little bit but I wasnt even concerned.. But now that it is raising in value and I hear people saying its more user-friendly I am a little worried lol.

Its the same exact thing except it uses a different encryption, and is everything BTC/4

The whole btc/4 thing is a marketing gimmick too. People automatically assume it will be worth 0.25btc per ltc in the future. But just because I make a coin with 84 million, does not mean my coin is automatically worth 0.25btc

Its raising in value just like other altcoins raise in value, but this is the worst time in history to get into LTC because a dump of vast proportions is about to be witnessed.

Transactions aren't faster at all, transactions are the same speed. The confirmations happen every 2.5 minutes vs BTC's 10 minute. But this does not make it faster. 1 confirmation on the btc network is worth alot more than 3 confirmations on the ltc network.

I don't doubt LTC will be a player in the market, but right now its wayyyyy overvalued and will be correcting soon.

it is just as easy to use as BTC if not more so cuz to download the wallet its like sooo much faster.
Bitcoin was a lot faster too, back before it was widely used.

If Litecoin was ever actually used in real life for all these fast transactions you keep talking about it wouldn't scale any better than Bitcoin.

Thank you for this my friend. Litecoin is clearly in the bubble stage and I don't think litecoin holders are mostly strong hands. I should buy us some beer when it pops.

GUYS something really really BIG is about to happen...

BTC is stalling while lots and lots of money and hashing power gets pumped into alts.

Several alts are getting hard-forked ATM.

Big crypto players setting positions.... something's cooking..

What's so funny ?

I think they are buying alts before BTC jumps to 5k and the alts subsequently follow...

In case you haven't found out, QRK, TAG and IFC just got hard-forked, all at the same time. Right now.

Alts have a future in my opinion.

But right now the alts are a ticking time bomb.  This rise is predicated on 2 things.

1. The fervor Bitcoin has created in this rally.
2. Hedging against Bitcoin because of the rally.

Which means

A. If Bitcoin takes off the money will leave the alts and go back into Bitcoin and teh alts crash back down.
B. If Bitcoin crashes, the confidence leaves the ENTIRE market and the alts crash with it.

The only way $$$ continues to flow into the alts is if Bitcoin consolidates right where it is.

But with all those options, I wouldn't touch LTC with a 10 foot pool right now. This is EXACTLY what we saw China do to BTC 10 days ago. Can anyone remember that far back?

Three alts that got pumped >300% in the last 2 days, and just got forked at the same time.

Ok. But what do you mean by FORKED?

They changed their code? They changed the way they function in some way?

What are you talking about?
