There wasn't enough buying pressure to carry this up.

The thing is even with the new buyers coming in from the surge in interest last week, we couldn't keep it going. Come the weekend (with no new deposits) and into next week (with no surge in interest this week), I can't see prices going anywhere other than downwards for the short term.

Breaking out of the triangle to the downside. Looking a bit bearish right now with all the bad news/uncertainty.

From what I read, it is only Bitcoins that create issues. So we do speak of an influx of BTC only. I´d say, once these coins hit the exchange, people are going to sell. My guess is <985 once issues are fixed.
Or people feel reassured and confident again because things are working like they should, and stop freaking out and selling the BTC they still have on balance on bitstamp. See, you can reason for the opposite to happen as well. That's why we are in the speculation subforum. You are right, there is always room for speculation. Lets see how this is going to turn out. But why would you deposit BTC on Bitstamp anyway ? To keep them there ? Those people were hoping to sell at higher prices... to trade

Breaking out of the triangle to the downside. Looking a bit bearish right now with all the bad news/uncertainty. Remind me of the 'bad news/uncertainty' again? I think I'm doing OK keeping up with the news but I must either be missing something or filtering out what others are calling bad news. China just clarified matters, Greenspan ... well, bless, imagine my surprise, he can't see beyond 'intrinsic value', we have another economist trapped in the economists' paradigm, and fresh calls for 'bubble', 'tulips'. What am I missing please?

Funny enough there is so much tension in the air it does not feel like a normal at all

What am I missing please? Chinese companies are removing their Bitcoin payment options because of the new ruling. Bitstamp is behaving weirdly with their deposits/withdrawals. The one day MACD just crossed. None of this matters even a hoot in the long-term of course.

Not to stir up the China news again, but for those who attempted to flip off the news as bullish, I fear that may have been a bit optimistic. From yomofo's post on reddit/bitcoin China Telecom page from last week. (note the btc logo) http://bitcoinexaminer.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/sdgfgh.jpgChina Telecom page from today. (note the btc logo is now gone) http://js.189.cn/w2014And also Baidu are no longer accepting bitcoin by the looks of it, whom where arguably the start of this Chinese rally. Although the government statement did not specifically ban companys from utilizing bitcoin, the Chinese people and company CEO's have become very adept at reading between the lines of what their government say. Still bullish?

Kinda interesting double-top + double-bottom situation. No idea what will happen, but i would say shorting is pretty dangerous just because it looks like the chances of price going to 1100-1200$ range is somewhat higher than a further dip.
We're currently printing Bitcoin's favorite pattern - Double Honey Badger.

Better take profits now then never. The china situation is really bad! I got rid of 80% of my btc holdings. I allways can buy back.

Still bullish? It was stated before that the offer wasn't from China Telecom , but from a dealer. Also , that's not the China Telecom webpage.

Even this week rally (before china news) has been weak as on low volume. Guess when no fresh fiat comes in and TA indicates down, Red fireworks it shall be ..
