Guys.. there was a real 6000-8000BTC market sell.

However Gox trade protection kicked in, and its looping the same sell over and over. So basically Gox is retarded.

I see the GoxLoop ™ is going again
Is that where they try to make you think it isn't as low as it is by replaying the data from 5 minutes ago?

My thoughts: Someone put a sell order >20k BTC in, gox decided to rewind the orderbook output a few times on the way down so they have enough time to sell elsewhere.

This loop "protection" thing is silly. It gets triggered when someone executes a massive market sell. Once the loop ends, the trader will almost certainly try to sell again, but in smaller quantities to prevent another loop. Thus, anyone who sees the loop knows what direction the market will go when the loop ends.

Gox is giving an significant advantage to traders on other exchanges...

How does this protection work?

Not sure. Its probably some sort of hack protection, in case someone fucks the exchange up.

So it reverts the [massive sell, in this case] and for some reason keeps replaying it.

Then it finally stops looping and the exchange functions from then on. The sell, of course, not reverted.

Random question though: Why do altcoins:BTC drop when BTC:USD drops?? Shouldnt it remain constant?
