If Satoshi is exiting perhaps we should pay attention.

We are.

Do we have any evidence that the old coins recently moved could have been from Satoshi?  I understand that the Satoshi coin are sitting in 50 BTC blocks, untouched since mining.  Has anyone been able to see if the old coins that just moved were from a bunch of old addresses each containing 50 BTC?

bullish here. Can see us hitting 550 maybe once or twice this year as china flees but not too much lower. The issue is low volume over the holidays but in the new year I'm confident once we hit 800 we won't look back in any meaningful way.

The Bitcoin market is a flea on an elephants ass currently. Small fish (the winklevoss douches) that want to be big fish are buying in...

The Winklevoss are also young and have time to grow into very big fishes.  Remember, the wealth held by those in their 50s, 60s and 70s must be passed down to the younger generation.  Bitcoin is one possible mechanism to facilitate this.

A lot can happen in a generation.

Small fry's are buying in because they want large returns and are willing to take the risk of their investment vehicles not being on Standard & Poor's aa rating. Inheritance is a different issue.

In fact I believe those are not Satoshi's coins. Show me a stash that didn't move from 2010, and I might believe its Satoshi's. But this stash, originary from 2011? It's not Satoshi for me.

I entertain the idea is knightmb moving/cashing out part of his 400k coins after the heat from the Romeneys Bitcoin ransom has passed.

Noone believed he donated his 400k coins to wikileaks as he said, there's no proof of that on the blockchain.

That passing of wealth with Bitcoin is a very interesting idea...a lot of interesting tax possibilities also.

And even crazier, the transfer doesn't have to be explicit.  If economic participants begin to value bitcoin more than fiat money, the wealth just gets "sucked" out of fiat money and injected into bitcoin, almost like magic.

Think about all the aging multi-millionaire and billionaire baby boomers (and older).  One way that their financial wealth could be transferred to the younger generation is through inheritance.  But another mechanism is that young people could simply place less value on these legacy financial products.  Bitcoin has the power to suck wealth away from the legacy financial system just by doing its own thing and building something better outside of the current system.

When Einstein explained the theory of relativity, it wasn't that the older physicists eventually came to realize that he was right.  What happened instead is that they all died, leaving behind only the younger ones who were less blind to truth.

Does not look too rosy for bulls now... My final speculation before Christmas is that we will see quite low prices (already) before New Year's.

Merry Christmas/Xmas/Holidays everyone! Smiley

Sweet, we'll probably see an Xmas ATH in that case Smiley

Funnily enough, Einstein spent the the last half of his life opposing the new insights of quantum mechanics, just like older physicists had opposed his theory of relativity.  Tongue  Tells a lot about the human condition I think.

To generalize a bit; it tends to happen with all new breakthroughs around the world. Remember that innovators were always the crazy ones that defied the "correct road". I've a theory that I present to fellow scientists; they tend to like it, so I present it here for you:

"If you want to invent something new you should study all those things, that others before you, have theorized and written into books. You MUST then, forget all about this shit. Invent your own way of thinking to understand what they were trying to express. Forget their laws, try make up your own ones. Be smart, be unique, be like a small child. You will eventually get it wrong; but there's a chance you get it right... and when you do, you will realize that there are many ways to get up this mountain apart from the known path.

There are very few innovators in the world because WE ARE FORCED to follow the books. If this was a successful method; we would be full of new theories, devices and innovations all around us. It seems it works the other way around..."

They all love it, because I tell them not to study too much... Wink
