Bitcoin Foundation should do some damage control. While their at it, kick out Karpeles' fat a

It may be wiser to start an independent entity with a completey different set of people.  The other Foundation board members presumably were brought together by Shrem, were his friends, or brought him in; how can they dissociate the Foundation from him?

In any case, methinks that Bitcoin would need some international Users Association with no exchange members in its board, to set standards for exchanges and rate them for compliance.

Adam is going to head up bitcoinfoudnation.org as chairman with proudhon vice chairman.

Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

Anyone with knowledge of candlesticks?

I've been confirmed an expert on candlesticks, without going into too much detail, my backtracked TA based on 3 and 5 SMAC values, confirms this is very bad.

Is it time to consider that lead developer Gavin Andresen may have been paid his salary from the Bitcoin Foundation using the same tainted coins that Shrem and SR users "laundered"??

NY ass-hat regulators could keep going right through the blockchain arresting anybody they wish using this logic.

"Get out of NY bitcoin businesses, get out of USA" ... seems to be the message.

I assume that will be the case after tomorrow

The message I got was "don't buy drugs on the internet, launder money, and operate an unlicensed business."

Darn it. I thought Bitcoin ownership endowed me with automatic immunity from all known laws. That's going to screw my serial killing right up. I'm off to find someone to sue.

Or is the message, Bitcoin away to your hearts content, but launder money or evade taxes and we are coming for you.... they had their warrant since Feb 13 pre the Nov hearings, so seems to me, this is all great news for the guberment, as they now know with confidence that they can trace payments through the blockchain,  and catch out the people laundering money for example.. then again it all depends on what evidence they really have at this point, or if these are trumped up charges... if they are trumped up charges, then yeah, get outta dodge could be their message... will have to wait and see what they have got.

Either way Hodl regardless is my thinking.

No, I confirm it means it's bad, as in it clearly demonstrates bitcoin is crashing, and will probably only begin to stabilize around $100 in the short term.  It's good for SHOTRS, though.

This Sunday jan/26 was rather atypical.  Volume was higher than normal in the Chinese exchanges (128 kBTC), especially Huobi, and price shot up by ~200 CNY from 4850 in intense trading, starting at about 22:00 local time. (As everybody noticed, that rally was basically undone today).

Volume was slightly higher tha usual in exchanges outside China, but price rallied there too.

China still has roughly 3/4 of the volume that I can monitor.

People have asked what is the point of these reports.  It seems important to compare the volumes, since (all other things equal, and barring major fakery) the higher-volume sites should have more weight in defining the price.  Arbitrage trading, for example, should generally have a larger impact on the market with smaller volume.

It would be nice to have more data about the trades than just the volume; but even if the data is out there, I will not have the time to collect it.

Ahhh... now you see that is what I thought, but then I thought he might have meant that it is good, because it is bad, which is bad, but bad is good, so therfore this bad is a good bad, not a bad bad.... there are known bads, and there are unknown bads.... that is to say there are bads that we know that we do not know, but there are also unknown bads , that is to say bads that we .... ah shit.  This is bad.

and by that I of course mean... this is GOOD.. again all depends on your point of view...

This is called an O-Shi Te Pattern. Most often seen after the fall of a sack of rice has been confirmed.
Usually you'll see a Wai Ai-No Hodl or Dam-I Sholtl formation afterwards.
