I will wager 4 bitcoins to a bear out there that bitcoins will be worth more than $1 in a years time.

I think a lot of the bears are poor. They do not have a lot of money to purchase bitcoins, thus they are desperate to increase their stash from 2 to 5 or from 12 to 23 or maybe from 50 to 70.

The desperation is palpable in here.

And to a man, they all secretively want bitcoin to go to 5 or 6 figures, once they get the target # of bitcoins that they hope for. Lol.

I mean, they are trying SOOOO hard to root the price down. If you go back and read this thread in late April and May the desperation from bears was not so obvious. Probably because bitcoins were so much cheaper.

At any rate, I almost want the market to go down to $500 so they will shut the fuck up. But I guess today, no one gets exactly what they want.

I'm waiting for the bull to say "we're still in stealth phase".

I live in a town of 12,000 where only about a dozen people have heard of it and I'm the only one who owns any. Yeah, we're still in the stealth phase.

yep, I live in New Zealand, and it seems the same. none of my friends know about it, Im trying desperately to teach them. I think it will take another 2 years before the mainstream will all go out there, download a wallet, and buy $100 of bitcoin each. those will be happy days.

Sorry to pass this on but the arrests we were discussing are on BBC world service now as the lead item, on 'Business news'

Hmmm... someone is press releasing this across the world 'on the eve of the senate hearings' as they said.

I think this is not an 'end of BTC story' but it is getting some mileage lots of SR / drugs / laundry mentions.

Not great - but I think the feds are distinguishing between 'good guys' and 'bad guys' - but a guy on now is saying 'always bad apples, but maybe this proves the need for regulation'

Anyway - I say BUY THE RUMOUR - this will blow over.   My Gox Bux will now get used up.  Hurrah!

Yes I told my brother to invest $500 when BTC was at $200 and he acted like it was monopoly money that people are pumping. "I don't trust it"...

first time I notice something like a "wall" on Kraken (BTC/EUR). 96 BTC @ 575. And big spread to Bitstamp in EUR.

You're thinking of a best case sceanrio in which Bitcoin becomes a massively adopted global phenomenon where every person has an interest in using it. But this graph is not intended to show success cases where something because a legitimate successful enterprise. It is intended to show ponzi schemes or things that fail or become unuseful (or not all that it was hyped up to be).

How many times does the graph have to be wrong before people stop posting it? I've been seeing it since 2011.

LOL yeah I told my friends to buy at $120. then $230, then $400. then I stopped cos it was really a bit too risky. when the price hit $1040, they look to me eyes wide open and say. SO DO I BUY NOW?Huh?
NO.
