Take a wild guess:

Number of times "Bitcoin" is referenced in the Libra whitepaper?

Zero

Number of times "blockchain" is mentioned?

65

That's some real chutzpah there, folks. Mentioning blockchain 65 times without a single mention of Bitcoin. As if they're trying to rewrite or at the very least obfuscate blockchain's origins. Brace yourselves for some grade A gaslighting. Make no mistake, their aim is not to complement Bitcoin, but replace it.

Quote from: Libra White Paper
Now is the time to create a new kind of digital currency built on the foundation of blockchain technology.

Ha!
Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

Ohh, this is gonna get good. Smiley

Quote
Waters in her statement Tuesday said the cryptocurrency market lacked a clear regulatory framework to protect investors, consumers and the economy.

"Regulators should see this as a wake-up call to get serious about the privacy and national security concerns, cybersecurity risks, and trading risks that are posed by cryptocurrencies," she said.

Looks like we can all grab a nice bowl of popcorn. Smiley

Well that didn't take long.

Don't mess with Bank of England.

Coin Desk: Facebook’s Libra Could Meet ‘Highest Standards’ in Regulation: BoE Governor

Quote
Carney added the U.K. central bank would scrutinize Facebook’s crypto payments plan “very closely” and will collaborate with global forces including G7 countries, the Bank of International Settlements, the International Monetary Fund as well as the Financial Stability Board, for which Carney served as a former chair.

Based on the report, Carney also raised questions on how Facebook would be able to ensure anti-money laundering measures while protecting users’ data privacy.

Frogs are upset:

Facebook’s Crypto Libra Shouldn’t Become Sovereign Currency, Blasts French Finance Minister

Quote
La Marie has also stated his intention to find out more about the project at the G7 with the central bankers in the coming months.

“I asked the central bank governors of the G7 to report to us in mid-July, when the G7 Finance Ministers will be meeting, to tell us what guarantees are to be obtained from Facebook,” added the minister.

Le Marie’s concerns not only circulate the financial implications of a privately distributed currency. The minister has also raised his concerns about Facebook and its data scandals in the past. He added that this digital currency would allow the social media platform to accumulate masses of private data once again again.

According to Kübler-Ross model we definetly are in this stage:

  • Denial – The first reaction is denial. In this stage, individuals believe the diagnosis is somehow mistaken, and cling to a false, preferable reality.
  • Anger – When the individual recognizes that denial cannot continue, they become frustrated, especially at proximate individuals. Certain psychological responses of a person undergoing this phase would be: "Why me? It's not fair!"; "How can this happen to me?"; "Who is to blame?"; "Why would this happen?".
  • Bargaining – The third stage involves the hope that the individual can avoid a cause of grief. Usually, the negotiation for an extended life is made in exchange for a reformed lifestyle. People facing less serious trauma can bargain or seek compromise. Examples include the terminally ill person who "negotiates with God" to attend a daughter's wedding or an attempt to bargain for more time to live in exchange for a reformed lifestyle.
  • Depression – "I'm so sad, why bother with anything?"; "I'm going to die soon, so what's the point?"; "I miss my loved one; why go on?"
During the fourth stage, the individual despairs at the recognition of their mortality. In this state, the individual may become silent, refuse visitors and spend much of the time mournful and sullen.
  • Acceptance – "It's going to be okay."; "I can't fight it; I may as well prepare for it."
In this last stage, individuals embrace mortality or inevitable future, or that of a loved one, or other tragic event. People dying may precede the survivors in this state, which typically comes with a calm, retrospective view for the individual, and a stable condition of emotions.

Why would you feel bad for a traitor.

Well, now that you've put it that way... I agree that she has utterly betrayed the German people, and Europe, but that's getting into politics. As an American, I'm not sure it's fair for me to speak about foreign politics when our own house is so screwed up.
...do you understand that americans are european?

I've been called some nasty shit, but that takes the cake.

Seeing as how the point is to buy low, sell high, posting about how something just got done going up 1500-9000x generally makes it a terrible buy.

Apple - Already sold a phone to everyone on the planet so not a whole lot of room for growth there

Amazon - Already has a planet encompassing monopoly

Netflix - Probably can grow bigger but still bloated already

Bitcoin - Not possible to defeat physical metals on Exter's pyramid.  Also has zero fundamentals from transaction validators being designed to centralize with tokens being non-fungible, making it a permissioned ledger whose only possible endgame evolution is an exact replica of the Chinese social credit score system

Apple can sell a new phone every couple of years so the market is still the entire world

Amazon are no where near being done.

Netflix needs to have a little think but I think it’ll still do alright over the next 10 years.

Bitcoin. Lol. Just buy some bitcoin man. Even as a happiness hedge. In ten years if BTC is over 100k you’re going to be one hell of a drag at parties.  Grin

No idea about amazon and Netflix but apple is spot on.

Their new phones are overpriced af and whoever I see lately either uses an iPhone 6s or 7. (I am a 6s user myself) and I refuse to pay a grand for a fucking phone it is stupid.

Apple's sale numbers Verifies it too.

Fully agreed. Apple has probably topped.

Amazon has a lot of room to grow. There are many sectors they are barely touching yet. Also the amount of customers and volume can also grow.

Netflix too, they can still greatly grow their user base, they could even moderately raise their prices while streaming costs and licensing presumably reduce over time and with scale.

But that is speaking of them as a business.... I haven't calculated if the prices of its shares have already discounted future projected growth which perfectly could be the case.

Bitcoin... well they are right in that it can't be valued the same as a business can... but one thing is sure: It has a LOT of room to grow.

Yeah that’s pretty cool, when are you planning to get it done? Show a pic of it when you get it done.

You will see it first! I plan on this weekend

Best of luck, brother.

Don't want to ruin a party for Tattoo's lovers and its simple piece of advice. If you already finalized the BTC rocket design, then I suggest before final ink, put this on your wall for at least 3-4 months, where you can see this every day and if after a couple of months you still want this design on your body then go for it.

That's how I am going to choose a design for myself if I ever plan to get ink on my body.

Flawed, just go for it  Cool

I still don't regret any of mine Tongue

You are biased in this topic :p

Even I suggest him to hire a concept artist for a couple of 100 bucks and create a unique sketch-designs regarding BTC, not some random design from the google.

Tattoos are not good opsec.  Tattoos about BTC can be quite problematic, and disclosing them on the interwebs is exacerbates the problematic direction.  Hopefully, the vast majority of peeps are giving some mature attention to their choices in this direction, including time to consider whether their tatooing decision is good, in spite of some of the "feels good man" emotions that they might experience in the direction of such purported personalization of their meat wagons.

I think this presumes too much.

Its not that hard to get a list of rich people. They don't all hide away.

Why will bitcoin be different from the windfall of daddy's import export company millions? They will probably be quaffing champagne in the same wine bars.

The article said she had a previous bout but it stopped after she ate something.  It could have been low blood sugar, or she could be diabetic.  That would cause shaking of that sort.

I actually kinda feel bad for Merkel if she was genuinely just dehydrated and didn't have the foresight/time to have a snack or something before the event. Don't like her or her politics at all, but on a human level, it was troubling to watch her try to maintain her composure during the fit. Not going to speculate on any possible developing neurological issues, as I understand she has a history with this sort of health issue.

Hillary Clinton on the other hand, zero sympathy. Remember those blue-tinted anti-seizure glasses she was photographed wearing a while back ?  Roll Eyes

You are right its fucking hideous had 2 episodes of this, one at a pool match when I couldn't play at all due to the shaking and my bridge hand wouldn't open from a fist (it was really embarrassing) and once in the supermarket and I was stuck right in the middle of the place unable to pay. Doctor said there may be some injections needed as first thought, lowered blood pressure and increased fitness, turned out to be not the case. In fact she upped my BP medicine on the spot.

After the stomach operations last year and now this fine motor functions based issue I am feeling very mortal.

I really must work out the instructions for my family in worst case.

I will probably give my partner a few trustworthy names from here in case she needs some help and I am not around.
